NBA Season 2010-2011 Season Wins Discussion Forum

NBA Season 2010-2011 Season Wins Discussion Forum A little early, but thought I'd put up a thread. Any teams that are clearly going to get better? What teams are a clear fade? You have to think some of these older Western Teams (Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, phx) are going to start fading, especially as teams like Portland, Ok City, etc. keep getting better......
At first glance Better: Chicago (If they can get a good slightly under 1st Tier FA i.e. Rudy Gay or Joe Johnson) Milwaukee (Bogut back healthy and needing a shooter badly) Sacramento (really young and can't get worse) Portland (if healthy and can get someone to score down low) Oklahoma City (needs another shooter and a better big guy than Collison) LA Clippers (Griffin comes back and Gordon and Kaman are nice pieces) Houston (Adelman solid coach and Kevin Martin is now there for the full-season and Aaron Brooks is becoming a potential star and needs Yao back healthy) Worse: Denver (these knuckleheads fell apart without George Karl and Melo will be in last year of contract) Phoenix (Nash is showing his age and Amare is Free Agent) LA Lakers (Kobe starting to get injured more often, Artest taking bad shots, no money to add any more pieces) Boston (Rondo is their star now and not the big 3)
Great post!!!!!!!!!!!!
Burger has stated that the Warriors will be a lot better. I would tend to agree, but offseason moves will affect this. Really, it's hard to speculate at this point because the NBA has more roster turnover than any other major sports league. But if the Warriors don't make any ridiculous trades in the offseason, the team will win 50 games next year. Philadelphia does not seem to have any kind of direction; I would bet anything under 35 wins, but I don't know that the line would even be set that high. Is there any kind of trend with suddenly horrible teams the next year? New Jersey would qualify.

With the free agent class coming up, you seriously cannot make any predictions this early.
With the free agent class coming up, you seriously cannot make any predictions this early.
I do agree. However, it is best to have some idea of what you are looking at as even a game differential can obviously make a difference & the numbers can change quickly. I had Toronto UNDER 41.5 and added to it at 41. I was sweating big time in March but the Chris Bosh injury saved me. I will be looking at the Kings and the Clips OVER.
50?
Burger has stated that the Warriors will be a lot better. I would tend to agree, but offseason moves will affect this. In the West.
The team can score. All their defenders were injured. What's annoying is that Don Nelson should be gone because he got the record, and the team has a bad track record with hiring head coaches. The o/u on the Warriors, barring a big FA signing, should be 40 at the highest. A lot could go wrong, and the team should still be able to finish .500.

The O/U on the Warriors as the team stands now (excluding big FA signing-which won't happen) will be somewhere around 33-37. You can book that. I don't think they can win 50 but there is absolutely no reason why they can't win 41-44 games next year with the outside chance of reaching 46-48. Biedrins had a wasted season. Turiaf was in and out of the lineup all year. Wright missed the entire season. Randolph missed the last 1/2 of the season. That is 28 feet of defenders that missed big chunks if not most/all of the season. Azubuke missed the majority of the season and he was playing the best all around basketball on the team when he went down. As the season progressed, Stephen Curry blossomed into an outright superstar. I look for the Warriors to make some kind of "mid-major" moves around draft night or shortly after that includes moving Maggette and either Randolph/Wright/Biedrins. If they could get the right deal I think they would move Monta as well. The core of this team (pre 2010 draft) is Stephen Curry and...... REGGIE WILLIAMS. Yes you read that correctly. Reggie Williams is a an absolute star in the making. He is a lefty guard who has size/bulk and is an absolute scoring machine. The complete roster for the 2010-2011 Warriors depends on which one of the following 3 players the Warriors get in the draft: Evans/Cousins/Favors With an added veteran or 2 that are primarily adept at aspects other than scoring and getting back even half of the bodies that missed last year due to injury (All time NBA leaders in games missed due to injury last season) coupled with a top 1-5 pick in the lotto.... This team will be on my radar as a wonderful OVER selection next season.

Seriously? Curry is going to be a solid NBA guy for sure. Reggie Williams? Who in their right mind would trade for Biedrins/Wright/Randolph? Would anybody really want Cory Maggette? And ur suggesting that they might trade Ellis and still get to 40 wins? Outside chance at 46-48 wins in the west? Wall/Cousins/Favors is the order that I think you meant. Evans has already won ROY even though you had Jennings overwhelmingly winning it after he dropped 55 on .........the W's.........come on Burger your better than this.........Disfunctional franchise with an uncertain ownership setting.....with a " I don't give a shit coach" and they are going to win 40 in the West? Please tell me you have season tickets and then I will somewhat understand the euphoria.
