NBA Sunday 2 Favorites I like the situational matchups here today:
Celtics-6 1H
Celtics 12 Game
2 teams going in different directions here. Celtics trying to put it together in their playoff seeding push and get some momentum going into the playoffs.
Celtics on 3 game win streak since the debacle of a loss at home to the Nets about 9 days ago.
This team is starting to get healthy and cohesive winning their last home game by 24 vs Charlotte and then defeating the 76's by 10 on the road.
Wiz are really beginning to crumble after what was a little mini spark after the trade with Dallas. Josh Howard has been lost for the season with a knee injury. The Wiz are coming off a terrible home and home with Milwaukee losing by 13 and then 28. I watched most of those two games and this Wiz team is really tanking. Foye a small armed PG will have issues with the long Rondo and a team of perennial losers (Thornton/McGee/Miller/Foye) are basically thrown together and asked to play out the string as the Wizards await the summer and what will happen in the draft and with Gilbert.
OKC-1.5 1H
OKC-3.5 Game
Here we have two teams that are both playing pretty good basketball.
Sac has won 3 of their last 5 and the addition of Carl Landry coupled with the retrieve of some players that had been injured or out of shape (Garcia & May) have made the Kings competitive of late. This is just a really tough spot for Sac.
Sac coming off a 3 game road trip (somewhat like the texas tango) but instead of playing the Spurs they played this very Thunder team...
Sac played 3 games @ OKC, @ Hou, @ Dal and had a realistic chance of winning all of the 3.
All 3 were played to the tilt all the way down to the wire....especially this last defeat at Dallas. Now they have to travel back to California where OKC is already waiting for them and must find the energy to battle again.
At glance these are the games that stand out as "wow Sacramento is playing close games lately on the road and this is a revenge spot vs OKC, I bet Sac beats their ass at home"....
However what goes unnoticed is the magnitude of 3 straight close losses to a young team who now must travel back home across 2 time zones and play a team that is not only better than them but also more rested and just as young.
I look for an exhausted Sac team to get wittled down today.
Good Luck
