NBA Tuesday Night (Big Play)

NBA Tuesday Night (Big Play) I remember one of Alan Boston's old favorite sayings during those conference calls he used to do where he would brutalize Jon in Oakland: "There is no better bet than a focused favorite." Well that is exactly what we have here tonight boys and girls. The veteran led Charlotte Bobcats stroll into Washington tonight for the last game of a 3 game trip against the lowly Wizards. I will be playing this game in 1st Q, 1H, and game line. I already have the game line played at Charlotte-6. In no specific order here is a list of what Charlotte has going for them tonight: Washington coming home from a West coast trip traveling from Pacific time to Eastern time. The trip was 4 games all played in either the Pacific or Mountain time zones. Charlotte is a veteran laden team fighting in a playoff race and is coming into this last game of a 3 game trip knowing it has to have the win. Charlotte lost a nailbiter in Atlanta and then came out flat and lost a tough one in Miami the next night. With Miami beating the Nets last night, this is a must win for Charlotte. Michael Jordan now owns the Bobcats and has been on this road trip with them. While I can't guarantee he is still with the team I would be surprised if he wasn't especially with the opportunity to beat his old team the Wizards. I'm sure he would love for his new "toy" to prove something to him by putting a beating on the lowly Wizards and sticking it to all the Washington press who still give him hell for drafting Kwame Brown. Washington has lost 11 games in a row and only 2 of those 11 have been lost by less than 6 points. There is absolutely no reason for a Larry Brown coached team that has lost 2 games already on a 3 game trip (who is fighting for the playoffs) to not be completely focused coming into this basketball game. But there is also another "escape hatch" that goes if things somehow go sour... Washington turns around and plays tomorrow night at Indiana. This is a classic "chase system" opportunity. What can this team have in the tank either of these nights? They just played a 4 game West Coast trip. They have absolutely nothing to play for. They are already tanking the season. They lose 3 hours in time zone changes and.... If they happen to somehow pull out a miracle and cover against a motivated and focused veteran Bobcats team they then must board a plane again and fly back to Indiana to face a Pacers team that has won 3 of their last 5 games and their 2 losses were a 4 point loss at the on fire Bucks and a 5 point loss at the Cavs. I just don't see any possible way where the Wiz don't get beaten by at least 15-20 points in one of these games, if not both. Charlotte on Tuesday night and then a surging Pacers team on Wednesday night... Let's get em'...
Nice writeup Burger! What are you on the payroll over here or something? LOL.
just playing devils advocate here but Wash has covered the last 3 out West against some real good playoff teams. That is not tanking it.
just playing devils advocate here but Wash has covered the last 3 out West against some real good playoff teams. Management tanked the season when they gave away Caron Butler and Brendon Haywood. With that said... The Wiz covering the last 3 games is very misleading. Keep in mind only 1 game of that trip did they lose by less than 7 points. In their last game at LA they trailed by 22 going into the 4th Q and outscored the Lakers scrubs to make the game seem somewhat close playing a LA squad that was simply going through the motions. In Portland (the one game that they played tough) they caught a Portland team sluggish with 5 injured players and coming off 4 days rest. In the game Brandon Roy at one point missed 14 straight shots. In Denver they caught a Nuggets team playing their 5th game in 6 nights in 5 different cities and still lost by 7. And when they played one team in a decent situation (Utah) they were blown out by 20+. Now this is the NBA. Things can blow up against you at this time of year. But Charlotte has a lot going for it in this matchup tonight. The strength of the Wizards right now (their bigs: Blatche, McGee, Thornton) should find this Bobcats a tough matchup with Chandler/Ratliff/Wallace/Diaw/Jackson all excellent defenders.

Burger thanks for write up and opinion. coolmil
Burger- Is Blatche hurt, he only played 7 minutes? Thorton has 3 fouls. Charlotte shooting only 36%, to Washington's 44%, but are still right in the game. Thoughts on Charlotte 2nd half? Thanks
Bobcats 1Q winner Bobcats 1H loser Bobcats led 27-20 with 1 second left in 1Q and gave up buzzer beater 3. Since that point Bobcats put up a monster 11 point 2Q and trail by 6 at the half. Blatche looks to either have been injured or benched. I stepped away for a few minutes and am awaiting the halftime show to hear exactly what happened. Regardless I am playing a DOUBLE play on the Bobcats in the 2H. 1 wager on Charlotte -6 -105 1 wager on Charlotte -7 +110 I look for the Bobcats to still cover this game line FWIW.
I had 1H over93, 50pt 1Q was a good start. Have game o182 also, just doubled down on o90 2H to make up for 1H debacle. Good luck.
very frustrating game to watch.. both these teams stink.. miss so many shots/FT and a ton of airballs.
very frustrating game to watch.. both these teams stink.. miss so many shots/FT and a ton of airballs.
Ft's a joke for Charlotte. Something like 10 missed FT's in 4Q alone. Had 3 point lead and 6 straight shot attempts to widen the gap and couldn't do it. Miracle 3 after a ref missed over the back call and more missed FT's by Charlotte and this thing is in OT. Jackson and Felton something like 3-9 in 4Q FT shooting.
