A: When bubble teams like Villanova and NC ST got in the tourney and won it all, winning 6 straight games by upset....... A: When tiny Ole Hicksville made the final vs. Mich St in 1979. When did Poker take off A: When Chris Donkeymaker (who has since gotten pretty good) won it all. The reason it is so important is that with 325 fans/alums of teams, the North Texas's, Morehead States, Wich States/Daytons, Montanas, Rhode Islands etc ALL want to feel THEY could make a run.........the best way for this to happen is for one of them to revolt and actually do it. Poker IMO took a HUGE hit when CADA luck box beat out MoneyMaker II in the finals at the WSOP.
