NCAA Tournament Rd 1

Thanks to the board for some good 2nd half plays. 21-9 today. Definitely needed a good one today. 8-6 sides 13-3 totals
As always, thank you Shooter.
729/730 UTEP/Butler UN 129' SMU and So Miss was able to control tempo vs. UTEP in CUSA as was Air Force. UTEP will play at the opponents' tempo. UTEP won all of those 5 games against the above teams, but none of those clubs are as good as Butler.
Butler sank us with their 3pt shooting in the 2nd. Had UTEP +3 & Under for game as per RAS. I believe they went something like 14/32 from 3pt range in 2nd half. Sickenning, under was a solid play.
Early games (Session 1): 827 Morgan State (+17') Teams that went the distance in their conf tourneys (both of these teams did, but Morgan St's tournament was more spread out) seemed to not completely have their legs yesterday. 845/846 Minnesota/Xavier OV 142 831/832 Cornell/Temple OV 120' 832 Temple (-3') (-105) Cornell is the trendy pick. Cornell has beaten no one of significance. They are being picked and bet on one performance which was their close loss at Kansas. They also got dominated at home by Seton Hall and lost on a neutral to St John's. Temple's defense is outstanding.

Session 2: 853/854 Siena/Purdue UN 131 854 Purdue (-4) Hate to go against Fezz here, but Siena is totally the wrong side. Siena has beaten NO ONE of significance. Every time they played a major program this year, they were buried. Northern Iowa and Butler also buried them. Purdue is off a highly embarrassing loss to Minny on national TV. Hummel is a big loss, but Purdue still has other good players and they are good enough to beat Siena. This is a walkover for Purdue today. 829 Missouri (+2) (-115) 843/844 Oakland/Pittsburgh OV 134 844 Pittsburgh (-9') (-107) Pitt is a fairly disrespected fav here. 833/834 Wofford/Wisconsin UN 115' 834 Wisconsin (-10) (-105) 851 Utah State (+3') Utah St has had to hear all week that they don't belong in the tournament.
I took Utah St +3'. Only at 3 now, but still like it.
Session 3: 825 Florida State (-1) 825/826 Florida St/Gonzaga OV 132 Mostly 1.5's now. Still like it. FSU's defense much better in this one (#1 in the country). Zags defense leaves a lot to be desired and I think FSU won't have their usual scoring trouble. 841 Georgia Tech (+2) (-117) GT seemed to figure out that they need to pound the ball to Favors in the last 2 ACC Tourney games. GT has 2 lottery picks on the front line. 847/848 New Mexico St/Michigan St OV 148 848 Michigan State (-13) New Mex State has flapped their yaps a lot and while Mich St is really down from usual standards, they still have enough to beat down an Aggie team that takes horrible shots and can't defend in an uptempo game. I think Sparty hangs a hundred here. 835/836 Ark Pine Bluff/Duke OV 57' 1st H 836 Duke (-23) (-108)
Session 4: 824 Syracuse (-15') (-106) I liked the Catamounts at open, but now that Onuaku is out, I like the Cuse to be focused. Also like the fact that the Big East sucke yesterday. 839 UCSB (+17') 839/840 UCSB/Ohio State UN 132 Ohio State shot the lights out in the Big 10 Tourney. Can't make these shots game in and game out. 849/850 Houston/Maryland OV 157 850 Maryland (-9) (-108) Houston can't defend that well. Penders and the Cougars overachieved here getting in the tourney. 838 California (PK) Pac-10 disrespect. Louey inconsistent.
845/846 Minnesota/Xavier OV 75 2nd Half This is a close game and I see a ton of fouls being called throughout the half.
823/824 Vermont/Syracuse OV 144
