Philly signs Iverson, I guess Michael Vick Unavailable?? He leaves Denver.....they kick ass He goes to Detroit..........they tank completely Further, is there ANY respected person who thinks he is an asset anymore? Even in his prime, he was Massively overrated, didn't play defense, and wasn't a ball sharer. This team gets its butt kicked the rest of the year..........
Yes, but now the team sells out its games long after they're eliminated from postseason contention. The team wasn't going to make the playoffs anyway. At least now they'll make some money off of it.
Even in his prime, he was Massively overrated, didn't play defense, and wasn't a ball sharer. This team gets its butt kicked the rest of the year..........
during his prime, he averages more than 6 apg, won four scoring titles, two mvp's and led an pretty bad team to the finals. the guy is fifth all-time in scoring average. i suppose russell was overrated because he didn't shoot free throws particularly well.
I think he was only the MVP once (2 in All Star games though), but he was the Big East defensive player of the year both seasons he was at GTown. He was pretty good at defense and I'm not sure Fezzik knows what he's talking about. I think he's correct about Iverson being washed up though...and no one wants him for a reason. He was pretty damn good in his prime. "One tough monkey" as Fudge Packer would call him. LOL

Small guards get way too much credit for what they do at the offensive end. They can be posted up all day or just shot over at will and never get a rebound. Their plus/minus relative to their teammates tells the better story. Iverson was a great offensive force in his prime but still a liability on the defensive end. A couple of steals a game don't make up for being shot over all game long.
my bad, he won one league mvp.
Picking up a crappy player with a bad atttitude to sell tickets while losing games Is NOT a good marketing strategy.
i miss the days of betting against the 1.5/2 point market moves when iverson was announced OUT.
