Phoenix/Tulsa WNBA Game tonight

Phoenix/Tulsa WNBA Game tonight First off, these following paragraphs will be the extent of my knowledge on the WNBA. I've have not seen a game this year and perhaps have never seen a full game in its history. Here are some things I'll take as facts: I saw a news item that Nolan Richardson resigned as coach of Tulsa. Then this morning I got tweeted that from RAS that they are on the under for tonight's game. I know they're sharp so I read a little more into the game and Friday night's game. I saw that Tulsa lost by only 8 to Phoenix on Friday and they played like a different team than the 1-9 team that they were going into this game. They held Phoenix to 10 pts in the 4th quarter. I take it Phoenix scores a lot and I'll assume that that is how the totals can be 180. The beat writer for Tulsa commented that Tulsa has the worst perimeter team in the WNBA and would be inferior at the NCAA level and that is factored into their lack of success. Fez said way back on a Tulsa play he had or a total that they played their hearts out. This is back in game 3 or 4. I don't remember. But I take this is a bad team that works hard and does take this seriously. FWIW the writeups said Richardson worked very hard and that wasn't the issue. Tulsa started 2 new players on Friday but has one key rookie injured. One of those two may have been an injured player coming back. She didn't play many minutes. Tulsa has lost 5 of their games I think by 20 or more. What I'm doing this with information -I bet the under because RAS said so. I didn't bet any extra but I have to think a little bit that they think there will be a slight strategy change from Tulsa with a new coach that may lead to fewer points for their opposition. Seems reasonable. -I see a coaching change, a 1-10 team that tries, it is a back to back game they already lost the first game. In any other sport these are already 3 areas that are positives regarding situation for Tulsa. Heck, the coaching change angle has made me bet that in hockey especially if the line appears fair. I have no idea what a fair line in this game but I do see +14.5. I gotta figure Tulsa must think this is a very important game to their new coach, their fans, etc. It sounds like this whole franchise is a mess in a league with probably severe financial issues. I don't know anything about Phoenix's philosophy and no time to even guess I would hope they don't want to embarrass these guys. These types of games have larger than normal emotional responses. There is probably a greater chance Phoenix kills them but there is a probably a greater chance than normal that Tulsa will win this game outright as unlikely as that seems. Based on all that I bet Tulsa +14.5 at reduced juice FWIW.
The problem is Phx is playing like a Juggernaut right now, and Tulsa might just be sad, nothing more. Also, the game @Tulsa was low scoring, Went unde 183, NOW the total is 178.5 in a venue where Phx can blitz these guys. Maybe 2nd half under......NO WAY to 1st half under IMO..........Tulsa likely plays inspired, Phx likely just does what they do SCORE SCORE SCORE early.
60-28 at half, I am going back to scrubbing floors with toothbrush.
The halftime flashed up. Yeah, it looks like I guessed the wrong side of the emotional advantage so far. You're right, Phoenix did their part to score, score, score and score some more. That 5 out of 9 losses by more than 20 and write up about their perimeter scoring of Tulsa. Boy, I wish I was smart enough to have focused on those areas. Somebody must have had Tulsa under any plausible 2 digit number for this game.

I remember in the movie "League of their own" I didn't remember his name but I just looked it up and it was Ira Lowenstein played by David Strathairn and he had to go to Dottie and tell that Mr. Harvey was getting a little impatient. The games are sort of boring, there really aren't that many people in the crowd or interested and well Mr. Harvey was thinking of shutting them down. Madonna struck back that he wasn't going to shut her down. I really admired her. Dottie was the best player in the league and she was pretty smart. And hell she had integrity and looks. Wouldn't even play in the league unless her sister came along. And then there was that homely but pretty damn good Marla Hooch. But Dottie wouldn't play without her either. Dottie figured out what was going on. She balanced the girls who could play with the girls who had looks and what the male fan wanted and look to me came up a reasonable compromise. I really suggest the ownership and players, particulaly the star players of the WNBA examine this movie closely because I think they've got a little deja vu going on here and they might be able to at least make a little more effort to salvage something here. I got to be brutally honest that there probably is a limited market for selling pro basketball dreams to 10 year old girls. I hate to sound sexist and really my comments are really to try to balance it that there is a professional league for women to play basketball. But it isn't owed my society. I don't know if that means Candace Parker has to do the splits after a layup but I'll leave it at that.
I HATE the game......but business is business.........2nd half under..........
So it was your money moving that number from 88 to 87. Nice play. Well, at least the bookies are you paying you to watch the games. And thanks for the play.
Was this a weighted play that counts towards your record or not? If so posting in the WNBA thread is most beneficial to all as everyone subscribed to the thread get it during that short halftime period. Guessing very few people saw this. If it was just a lean based on the discussion in the thread then this seems like the proper spot for it and thanks for the play.
I don't think Fezzik made it a play or even leaned during the halftime. However, I saw the move at halftime. By comments that he bet 2nd half under later in the evening (which I'm inferring from his commentary) I was assuming that he probably bet enough to move the number so he was the source of the move. Just complete conjecture on my part but I thought reasonable to assume given his work at WNBA currently. I'm sure it could have been you guys too and if it was you thank you for the play. Can I assume it wasn't Billy Walters?
