Dont get me wrong, RAS has been very very good, but a big part of him or Bob or anyone else moving the number is the fact that a lot of people bet it. If they released to 5 or 10 people numbers may not move or would move just a bit.
I don't know. The way the books all move in unison, even if they themselves have not received any action on the game in question, it takes less action than it used to to move a number, does it not?
I think the marketing goes like this. Top tier gets a number at 8 p.m. at 124. The line moves to 125 in five minutes. Second tier gets the number at 8:15. Line moves to 127. Third tier gets the number at 8:30. By now, there may be some buyback, but also some of the second tier customers are finally getting to the cyberwindow to get down anyway. Everyone thinks they've got a good number. And at the end of the season when they advertise their tiers, the top tier is going to always have the best percentage, because SOME of these games will hit close to the number.
My guess is that second and third tier customers think they are getting different games, not the same games at inferior numbers.
