RASturbation

RASturbation Anyone besides me tired of sitting at the computer attempting feebly to get down on RAS plays at 8am to no avail? 7 plays this morning and I caught 1 at the release number, 1 at a premium and let the others go. Why are the books so afraid of this guy even when he's not performing? I've had many cordial emails with him imploring him to release later in the day when the books are occupied with other activity and are taking their full limits and he stubbornly refuses to even wait until 8:30am. It's ridiculous. He doesn't give a damn if his customers are getting value, all he cares about is his record. He might as well post at 3am. I know TGunn says he gets down all he wants but I'm sure that's the exception. I've spoken to many others who share my sentiments. Where do other subscribers stand on this? We need to send him a message. I won't be subscribing next year.
Today was a little tough, Got 7 for 7 on 1 local @ release lines but only @ 1k a pop. My other local with big limits has cut me down to 2k+1k a game and flagged my account hard. I did get in 3 of the 7 on this one for 1k a pop also. I play sides @ 2k, so will wait a little see if the numbers come back for the remaining 4plays. In the process of getting new accts with diff agents tho.. Should be back to normal shortly. As for the RAS service w/o totals being released at the same pace as before, the service will probably be reviewed to see if feasible for ED to keep it runing? just a guess
correction, missed first release completly, 6 for 7... overslept. RAS email is actually my alarm clock LOL tgunn
He doesn't give a damn if his customers are getting value, all he cares about is his record. He might as well post at 3am.
That is not a fair or accurate assessment. Our goal is to find balance between market maturation and being able to provide the most possible edge. Just after 8:00am PST has seemed to be the right time for this. CRIS is at full limits, Pinn has been anywhere from 60-100% limits, every major onscreen book including Grande is up, and about 80% of all offscreens are too. Several market movers are playing into CBB sides before and during our releases, having already cost us points or lost plays several times this season. The later in the day we release, the less edge and volume (on average) the service will have. Given this, I haven't seen enough evidence to suggest that the average user of the service would get more value or benefit from a later release time. The other issue is convenience. More people could probably get down easier if we had random release times, no or shorter release warnings, broke the releases up in to smaller groups, etc. Doing these things would likely draw even more complaints about convenience than we get now about line movement. As always we are just trying our best to balance everything. More feedback is encouraged and we'll continue to consider all viewpoints. Edward

Edward, you are between a rock and a hard place here Almost no one is getting your bets at your release numbers, either books are subscribing or your guys are betting your stuff with :02 left on the release. I am a VERY fast typist. I have LOTS of outs. I can get down 1 bet on 1/2 your plays at your release numbers. Having said all that, I understand you have a great edge in totals, a smaller one on sides. Who wants to wait when that edge dries up! I have no answers for you. But I imagine is the totals market doesn't come back, and you lose 2/3 of your subscribers, you may well just say "I'll just bet and not tout". You ARE the best in the business, but you are also crippled in thet you are a bettor and a service. The two do not mix well, well I know.
Once Grande is up the market is open, anyone complaining about a release at this time is a fool. Fezz said it best nothing you can do when the books subscribe to the service and move on air.
The markets may be open, but they aren't taking much action. Everything is on delay, or they move on air, or they pull the play altogether. I've tried many outs and it's quite futile during the week. In the afternoon or on the weekend, the phone works for plays and I have much better luck on the net as well. It's just a busier time and there is some cover. At 8am everyday, the books are very ready for this drill. I'd like to hear from more subscribers to say whether or not they are successful at getting down. I'd much prefer to have 5 plays in the afternoon that I can get than 7 plays I can't get at 8am. Am I alone here? Watch yourself Towelie, as Mr. Bowden said, "I'm not to old to find you, son".
I miss at least 80% of the numbers. I agree that this release time used to work 2 years ago and to an extent last year, but simply doesn't anymore for the majority of the customers. Also agree it's much easier when full limits are out at pinny. Perhaps a trial period where Edward tracks how many plays (or points) he actually does lose to line movement by waiting "X" amount of time.
I am able to get 90+% of the plays down at Bet Jamaica. I miss most at The Greek as it requires an extra step of typing in your initials. Today I got 7 of 7.
