Rickjs handicapping hoop picks wk of 01/03 A busy day yesterday. The nfl contests are over and I went 2-3 in both ending up with around 54% in both. Our play in the nfl won easily with Tennessee losing by 3 and had their chances to win the game as a 9.5 pt dog bring me to 64% on my nfl plays through the regular season. Our nhl play on Phil won. Our nba total lost. And our 3 RLM plays went 1-2. Oakland under looked good at the half but it got close but we covered. Illinois under was a loser. And Rutgers ahead by 3 at the half getting 14.5 lost by 16 in a very disappointing end game that couldn't of gone worse for us. Tues baskets Monday our ERLM on Northeastern won in a close finish with the end game going our way. Our play on Florida st was a clear lose since they were behind the entire game as a 14.5 pt favorite. And our total in the nba won easily. Also we have taken a pretty good drawdown on our regular college hoop plays. This may very well be a repeat of last season where the plays and results dropped off when conference play began. Also I am going to start putting out my early plays between 8:30 and 9:00 am pst. rather then the 8:00 am start. There is no hurry to get these out now that lines have tightened up. And it will be nice to see where the early steam is before putting out these plays. One Early reverse line move play this morning in college hoops: 521 Indiana +9 I got +9 -101 Since there is not much this morning let me mention a setup in the nba that I dont bet but probably should. The bulls opened at -9.5 and are now at -8 with the betting volume 83% on the bulls. In addition I have a very strong variable I use that favors Toronto. But when I look at my models they have the line at comfortably -12 or more. When you have a big disparity in what the line is and what your models or ratings tell you it should be there usually is something going on that you are not aware of. Power ratings and models that produce predictions regarding the line are good as a general guide but are not something alone that can be used to beat the spread. I wont be betting on Toronto but wont be surprised if it is an easy cover. And perhaps one day I will actually include this in my betting routine. I will update if anything develops later today. Wedn ncaa baskets Our ERLM play on Indiana +9 won on TUes. They had the line covered the entire game although Minn made a run late in the 2nd but Indiana stayed in there and covered. Thurs college hoops Wedn we lost our ERLM play on St Louis. They were never in the game. But in the Nhl Our play on Nashville won easily as they jumped to a 2-0 lead and won 4-1. Today so far 1 regular play in college hoops: 538 Pepperdine -8.5 I know Bell may not play. But He didnt play last game and they had a very good game. In addition the line is over compensating for him not playing. And if he does play it will be a real bonus. I will update later if anything else develops.
