Rockets/Denver tonight Interesting game to handicap. Dr. Bob sports with a 3 star play on the Nuggets tonight at -6.5. But there might be a
few ways of looking at this game differently. The Nuggets won't have Nene, Mozgov, Afflalo or Brewer. I mean you take any 4 guys off a team who are half ass reasonable it is somewhat of a reason to bet against them. My understanding is
the Nuggets are starting Julyan Stone and Kenneth Farried. Now they do have Miller and Harrington off the bench and we know that is a team strength their bench but this is a little depleted. I suppose if the Nuggets were healthy they might
be a 9 pt favourite over Houston here so the other argument is there are 2.5 pts factored into the line for these injuries.
To be honest it is enough for me not to make this a best bet on Denver. Like to make a case for Houston at 7 but I won't press it.
But someone betting looking at the Denver lineup would need to be a little queasy wouldn't they? I don't know these
guys I know I would be.
I'll add what I find is interesting is that he questions the value of 3 of the players missing as Afflalo does not have a good +/- and he is not really impressed with Nene so the theory is these players won't be missed.
And what I find is interesting is that regardless of these facts their most frequent lineup on the floor that I can see is Afflalo, Nene and Mozgov are all on the floor together with Lawson and Gallinari and no unit is played more frequently. Because of their deep bench I'm sure all of Denver's rotations are lesser minutes that what other teams use but still there must be a reason that Karl uses these 3 guys with 2 clear starters more than anyone else.
I don't know the answer but I'll be interested in how it develops. I have no wager on the game.
