Shooter's 2/27 CBB

Shooter's 2/27 CBB 8-5 last night. 515 Notre Dame (+11) 515/516 Notre Dame/Georgetown UN 146' (-107) ND slowed the pace down on Wed night vs. Pitt and won easily. Irish off best defensive effort of the year. 517 Northeastern (-3) (-108) NE off 2 home fav losses against La Tech and Hofstra. Mason is a little overvalued. Northeastern is the most experienced club in the CAA. 520 St John's (+2) Pitt has a ton of NYC kids that return home. They played terrible in MSG against Indiana at the Jimmy V Classic. Sometimes this club looks lost offensively. If Indiana's zone and Notre Dame's defense can shut them down, then St John's should be able to do so. 521 Michigan (+12') (-103) Michigan has hit rock bottom. I see them playing more loose today. 527 Boston College (+7') (-109) 527/528 BC/Ga Tech OV 137 BC played their best game of the year on Wed by drilling Va Tech by 20. Lots of pressure on bubble team GT. 529 Western Michigan (+3') 531/532 Kentucky/Tennessee OV 141' 532 Tennessee (+1') 1st H 532 Tennessee (+3) Game Tennessee played a really good zone on Kentucky that kept Wall bottled up all game. They surrounded bodies all around him and then went to a 3-2 zone. Expect the same here.
651 Southern Illinois (+8) (-112) Wichita off 2 tough road games at Utah St and Bradley. I expect them to be good on offense, but their defense to be a little lacking off these 2 tough games. SIU off an OT loss on Senior night in Carbondale to Creighton. Expect a focused effort from the road team.
535 Vanderbilt (-1') 537/538 Baylor/Oklahoma UN 143' No Willie Warren and Tiny Gallon for the Sooners today. OU will have to slow down the pace to stay with Baylor. 539/540 Iowa State/Colorado OV 145 2 bottom feeders playing each other usually leads to high scoring.
542 Alabama (-1/2) 1st H 542 Alabama (-1') (-108) Game Alabama blew a 20+ pt lead in the 2nd Half at Ole Miss a couple weeks ago. I expect a focused effort here for Bama to play all 40 minutes. Roll Tide. 543/544 North Texas/UL Monroe OV 141' 544 UL Monroe (+3') 556 Youngstown State (+2) Y-Town St has lost their L4 games by 3 pts or less. 02/25/10 WGHST L 73-76 W 9 02/20/10 @UCRIV L 60-62 W 5 02/15/10 @WIMIL L 62-64 W 9 02/13/10 VAL L 75-77 L -1 This tells me that Youngstown is still trying. This is senior day and ironically enough, it's usually bad teams that cover on senior day and not good teams. 557/558 Wright St/Cleveland St UN 126' 558 Cleveland St (+3') (-109) Wright State has already clinched the #2 seed in the Horizon tourney and an automatic bye into the semifinals. Cleveland St still playing for a home game in the first round. 559/560 UW Milwaukee/UIC OV 135' UIC has said screw it and decided to run and go more uptempo. 7 of the last 8 games have gone over. The only under was against Butler, one of the nation's best defensive teams. 561 Tulane (+15) (-112) 563/564 Cincinnati/West Virginia OV 133 565 Texas (+2) (-115) A & M almost beat Texas in Austin when they were #1. Now they've fallen on hard times and they are only laying 2 to this team? Hmmm. 567 North Carolina (+7') 569/570 Rhode Island/St. Bonaventure UN 149' 570 St. Bonaventure (+5')

572 Bowling Green (+3') (-112) Akron got their revenge from their beatdown against Buffalo earlier this month. They have the MAC title on the line against Kent St at home on Friday night. BG played hard vs. Kent the other night but couldn't get there late. They should give the same effort here.
553/554 Bradley/Creighton OV 138 (-108) 573 Arizona State (+7) (-108) Cal off a beatdown over Arizona on ESPN, a rare national TV game. They already licked ASU in Tempe. ASU only a half game from Cal. Cal is the only Pac-10 team with an at-large shot and ASU has to win the league to get any at-large consideration. Plus, I like the dog that plays the better defense and can control tempo. 576 Air Force (+13)
526 Old Dominion (-6') (-104) This is to win the CAA outright for ODU in a payback game. 533 Minnesota (+3) (-107) 533/534 Minnesota/Illinois UN 134' Illini only laying 3 at home with the touts ALL OVER them? Hmmm. 577 New Mexico (+4') (-107) 1st H 577 New Mexico (+8) (-104) Game May be trappy here to take these points, but New Mexico is not San Diego St and Steve Alford is not Steve Fisher. Completely different level of team here. 579/580 DePaul/Rutgers OV 132 583/584 Maryland/Virginia Tech OV 143 585 Georgia State (+9) Hofstra went on the road and beat then CAA-leading Northeastern. Letdown city here. 587 NC State (+7') (-112) Miami just beat UVA at home by a bunch so surely they can beat worse NC State at home by the # right? 589/590 Texas Tech/Nebraska OV 141' (-108) Texas Tech tried to slow it down against better teams like Texas and Kansas St and it didn't work. Pat Knight really hates his defense. However, I think they go uptempo here, which is when they really played their best early in the season. Plus, a Nebraska total over 140 is just daring you to take the under. 592 Oklahoma State (+3) 1st H 592 Oklahoma State (+6) (-109) Game Crowd will be pumped for this one with Self coming to Stillwater having turned down the Ok State job. HUGE game for the Cowpokes. 593/594 Delaware/Towson UN 143 692 Furman (+1') Charleston has an opportunity to share the SoCon title with Wofford with a win here and only lay 1.5 to Furman? Something fishy here.
551 Evansville (+9') (-108)
600 George Washington (-2) (-115) Against the move here. GW had Charlotte beat on the road earlier this month and choked the game away. 601 Wyoming (+14') 603 Mississippi State (-1) South Carolina off that loss at UK and taking on a Miss State team that needs a win big time. 713 IPFW (+11') Oakland has already clinched the Summit League title. IPFW will go all out to knock off the big dog in the league.
603/604 Miss State/South Carolina OV 138' 610 Toledo (+4') (-107) 611 Penn (+21) Cornell hasn't blown Ivy teams out at home except for godawful Dartmouth. Overlay here due to the revenge factor. 615/616 Yale/Harvard OV 143' 618 Dartmouth (+2) (-120) 619/620 Tulsa/East Carolina UN 136' 621 LSU (+8') Auburn blew a huge lead at Ole Miss on Wed and LSU got their first win in the SEC. Same situation as Penn St a couple weeks back. They got their first win and then won their next game getting the same #. 623/624 UL Lafayette/Denver UN 121' 627/628 Providence/South Florida UN 154' 214 between these two teams in first meeting. Providence just gave up almost 60% from the floor to Syracuse. I expect South Florida will want to slow this down a little. 631 Central Florida (+13) 637/638 Arizona/Stanford UN 143
