Shooter's 3/13 CBB

A-10 SEMIFINAL #2: 523 Richmond (+3') 523/524 Richmond/Xavier UN 63 1st Half Richmond a good defensive dog here. X off the emotional comeback over Dayton. Richmond also won't make 9 3-pters in the 1st H like they did vs. UMass. Low scoring early.
BIG 10 SEMIFINAL #2: 531 Minnesota (+1') (-105) 1st H 531 Minnesota (+3) (-119) Game Minny was my darkhorse in this thing. Purdue has no size outside of Johnson. Minny's twin towers may show up big here. SOUTHLAND CHAMPIONSHIP: 551 SFA (+3) 551/552 SFA/Sam Houston UN 60' 1st H SFA the better defensive club.
BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP: 533 Kansas State (+3) 1st Half 533 Kansas State (+6) (-104) Game 533/534 Kansas/Kansas State OV 68 1st Half 533/534 Kansas State/Kansas OV 146 (-103) I respect Bob Knight as much as any coach ever, but his analysis at the end of the Baylor and K-State game was wrong. He said Kansas has that much of an edge of K-State b/c K-State had a tougher game. I don't see it here. Kansas State REALLY wants to beat KU. KU will still play hard, but in the back of their mind, K-State is their bitch and Kansas already has locked a #1 seed. I take the more motivated team here.
MAC CHAMPIONSHIP: 537 Ohio U (+2) (-114) 537/538 Ohio U/Akron UN 62' 1st Half I question Akron's energy at this point and think they may be a tad out of gas. They went double OT with Eastern Michigan and then were life and death with Western Michigan only to win on a putback with 4 secs left.

PAC-10 CHAMPIONSHIP: 535 Washington (+3) (-120) Washington has played better defense down the stretch and in the Pac-10 Tournament. Huskies win this one with defense today.
MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP: 539/540 San Diego State/UNLV UN 60' 1st Half 539/540 San Diego State/UNLV UN 130' Game SDSU shot 10-16 on 3's last night and UNLV 8-19 as well. I don't see those going down tonight. In addition, UNLV held BYU to 42% from 2-point shooting which is excellent against a good offensive team like BYU. SDSU will also bring the defense here since they are likely in, but not 100% lock city. Both teams play quality defense.
BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIP: 542 UCSB (-1/2) (-111) Long Beach is soft defensively and Pacific took them to life and death. UCSB toyed with Davis and gave up a run only to run away and hide. BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP: 543/544 Georgetown/West Virginia OV 132 544 West Virginia (-2) (-113) GTown has looked highly impressive so far and West Virginia has just kind of gotten by. That gives value here. Two teams are easily in. Huggy Bear not happy with the offense. They will look to push tempo. WAC CHAMPIONSHIP: 546 Utah State (-9') Missed the -8', but it won't matter. New Mex St is allowing 46% from the floor in this tourney and Utah St only allowing 36%. Huge difference. Stew Morrill against anyone is a huge mismatch. Utah St, like I said last night, is on a mission. SWAC CHAMPIONSHIP: 554 Arkansas Pine Bluff (-2) (-107) Pine Bluff is only allowing 35% in the SWAC tourney.
PAC-10 CHAMPIONSHIP: Note this is delayed due to Big 10 game running over. 535/536 Washington/Cal UN 153
