BIG SOUTH SEMIFINAL #1: Tip in 17 minutes 555 Winthrop (+3) (-115) 555/556 Winthrop/Radford OV 122 Radford swept the season series and only won by 2 in both meetings. Radford got all 64 pts from its 5 starters in their Tuesday win in OT over #7 seed Charleston Southern (64-61 OT). Winthrop is deeper as well. I also take the over b/c I learned a lesson from the A-Sun game earlier. There will be more overs than unders in these smaller conference tournaments b/c of foulfests. These teams are 1 and done. It's not like the Big East Tourney where the 4 or 5 seed loses and may not care to foul.

PSU still playing hard.

BIG SOUTH SEMIFINAL #2: 557 UNC Asheville (+14) (-115) Coastal Carolina was picked 8th in the league and finished first. They are 27-5 and now the hunted and the overwhelming fav. Cliff Ellis is an OK coach but not great. He has won a conference coach of the year award in the ACC (Clemson), SEC (Auburn), Sun Belt (South Alabama) and now at Coastal Carolina. He has always been able to surpass low expectations but never meet higher expectations, which they now have thrust upon them.
