Shooter's Elite 8

Shooter's Elite 8 56-44-2 Overall in NCAA Tourney (was hoping for better). 9-7-1 in Sweet 16 (6-4 last night). WEST REGIONAL FINAL: 513 Butler (+4) 513/514 Butler/Kansas State OV 134 Butler was "out-athleted" in every matchup so far in this tournament. Butler has still managed to win and haven't shot well in any of the 3 games (with the exception of one good 2n half vs UTEP. Butler is only shooting less than 41% overall. They are a team that is perceived to have to hit 3's to win like other mid-majors. However, they are 13-44 last 2 games from outside. Butler is due for a good shooting day here. K-State will get some easy baskets by just forcing a faster pace. I still think coaching and smarts matter as much as athleticism. There is a reason Tom Izzo is still in the tournament with the worst team he has had in almost a decade. EAST REGIONAL FINAL: 511 West Virginia (+4') I picked them to win the whole thing so I guess I should like +4'. Kentucky finally has to beat a team with equally good athletes. The only team that could even come close to matching their athletes was Tennessee who did beat them once. Kentucky is prone to taking some bad 3's (2-16 vs. Cornell). They had a great shooting 1st round from 3 and they feel like they can make them all the time. Let's not forget, they only had EIGHT points in the first 15+ minutes of the 2nd half. West Virginia is the best defensive team they will have faced all year. Country Roads take me home...to a place I belong...WEST VIRGINIA!!
Shooter whats the status of deseans butlers hand if he aint 100% i think wv is toast.
John Denver baby, love it.
513/514 Butler/Kansas State UN 69' 2nd H Butler will keep the air out of the ball. They will not let K-State dictate pace. In addition, there were hardly any fouls called in the first half. They are letting a lot of stuff go.

511/512 West Virginia/Kentucky OV 61' 1st H 511/512 West Virginia/Kentucky OV 133 All the hype with the 2 best defenses in the tournament. Early shootout may be coming.
511/512 West Va/Kentucky OV 71 2nd H Yes, WV won't hit 8 3's, but they won't go 0-15 from 2 either. Refs started to call more fouls late in the half. I think we will see a lot called here early.
This goes to show that there is a BIG difference between a great recruiter and a great coach. 4-31 from the 3-pt line. You have the best point guard in the nation who can get to the rim whenever he wants and you take 31 3's? Too many players talking in the huddle instead of the head coach telling them all to shut the f up. Cousins losing his cool at the refs, etc. You may take talent over experience every time. I will always take smart over dumb (not that the West Va club are always rocket scientists, but they were smarter than UK).
4-3 yesterday. Should have been 4-2, but I made a stupid play on the second half under in the Butler/K-State game. MIDWEST REGIONAL FINAL: 721/722 Tennessee/Michigan State OV 62 1st Half 721/722 Tennessee/Michigan State OV 135' (-108) Both teams have the natural inclination to run. Mich St, contrary to perception, is not a slow down team. 722 Michigan State (+2) (-108) Can't go against Izzo in this spot. The Vols won't own the boards against Sparty like they did against the Buckeyes. SOUTH REGIONAL FINAL: 723/724 Baylor/Duke UN 65 1st H 723/724 Baylor/Duke UN 139 Game Both teams run good zones. I expect these teams to be very tight early. 724 Duke (-4') Anti-consensus favorite. I picked Baylor for the Final 4 so I guess I'm hedging. I don't like it that all these people are getting on the Baylor bus. So many on them that it is now about to tip over.
agree with all of your plays. Mich St +2 for game and Tenn Ov FH are small plays. Duke UNDR FH bigger. Thx and Good Luck
