Soccer betting SUCKS

Soccer betting SUCKS 1. Dealing totals at 2.25 (split line OV 2, OV 2.5) is beyond stupid IMO........the masses will NEVER embrace this in the US. Imagine a NFL game at -3 -3.5 split? STUPID. Just make the total OV 2-170 OR OV 2.5 +110, but not both. No square understands it,and it kills action. 2. Dealing sides at -1.25 (split line -1, -1.5). Same thing. 3. 3 way side action A,B, Tie. THIS is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Not only does it let the house have a bigger edge, it ENCOURAGES collusion/cheating where two teams can agree a ties is a good thing, and BOTH dump together. RIDICULOUS!!!! I will say the MGM managers would be proud of this nonsense. As we all know, MGM STILL deals totals with weird vig lines -135/+115. If ANYONE is senior management had a clue they would call down and say "STOP MAKING OUR SQUARES ANGRY, deal all totals at -110. I always felt Robert Walker (former mgr) was clueless to do this, him alone, BUT NOW HE IS GONE AND IT STILL GOES ON.

lol:D Blame Asia - no in all seriousness it's the best way to bet - does not stop them from betting - what ever 'proper move' comes out of Asia on just about any sport - pros should take notice.

Couldn't agree more, those 3 reasons are a big reason why there is no handle for soccer betting in the US. I would add in #4 extra time doesn't count? WTF is that.

Gee I think the main reason for the lack of handle in soccer betting might be the fact that the masses don't care about soccer. In response to Fez, the 1/4 and 3/4 lines are an option (and not at nearly all places). Obviously there are still single line spreads. You don't have to bet 3 way lines. Now true, there might be a larger gap, but it's getting that way it seems more and more with all money lines ( and I know I don't have the luxury of having 5 offshores to shop). As far as collusion to tie. Only on the 3rd game in group play. And it's widely known when that's a probable situation if you are following the tourney. The WCup is tougher to bet than it might appear, even for the most ardent futbal fans, and mainly because these teams don't play together much at all. Much like olympic hockey. Still a great tourney, and still money to be made. Many,many betting options and watching the games is the only way to make an educated decision moving forward. Just my 2 pennies. Plus the summer gets awfully boring on non cup/euro years. Good day SD.

I think that if ESPN televised and promoted one of the better leagues like the LaLiga or Premiership and the lines were a lot closer to baseball betting than the current crap they have soccer betting would catch on here.
