Wed 10/27 NBA

Wed 10/27 NBA 1-0 (+2.0) Houston led most of the game, gave up big run to Lakers and then closed on a great run. Here's the card so far (may add one more later): 701/702 Detroit/New Jersey UN 189 704 Cleveland (+2') 1st H 704 Cleveland (+4') Game This Cavs team likely doesn't end up very good, but I think they start the year fairly well in the first month. These guys will be inspired to play their asses off without Lebron and will be out to prove a point. Boston off a big win over Miami (yes, it's Game 1) that drew huge pub and TV ratings. They just beat Lebron's new team that's supposed to win 70 games according to some people, so surely they can beat the slapdick Cavs without Lebron, right? On the post-show, Doc Rivers said something interesting to his team. When talking about the fact that it's still to be determined if this team can win a title, he said "But we know we can beat anybody on any night in this league". That is a true statement, but you may see an overconfident Celtics bunch tonight.

The impetus that got me started betting NBA Futures was Michael Jordon leaving the Bulls before the 1993-94 NBA season. I'm originally from Chicago and the despair there was similar to what I'm experiencing now in Cleveland. However, the Bulls still had a lot of good players. The Futures line was 41 wins! I couldn't believe it. I released it to my customers as my first 5-Star NBA Futures play of the Year. I knew that the players would be extremely motivated to prove that it wasn't all Mike. Chicago won 55 games in the regular season. I don't think the Cavs are going to the playoffs this season, but I think they will be motivated to come into their own and blossom without Lebron. 705 New York (+1) (-104) Perhaps a new attitude for the Knicks. I don't like to D'Antoni system come playoff time. However, this team is far more athletic and has better shooters than they have had in forever (Roger Mason Jr, Gallinari, Andy Rautins, Landry Fields). Their point guard play may be better as well. 712 Minnesota (-3) (-107) No team was made fun of more over the summer than the Wolves with their numerous point guard acquisitions. However, they did add a couple decent pieces that could flourish there most notably Martell Webster and even the erratic Michael Beasley.
710 Memphis (-2) When a team barely misses the playoffs (OK not barely, but competitive at least) and goes 8-0 in the preseason, that's a little buy sign for me. New coach in Atlanta who might let them play more loosey-goosey, which is bad for Atlanta b/c some of their guys play every game like it's an AAU game.

721 Utah (+4)
Super Call on the Cavs Shooter...
What was your NBA record last year if you don't mind?
Add: 723 Houston (+2) 1st H Houston on a B2B, but they will have legs in 1st half. 726 LA Clippers (+1') 1st H 726 LA Clippers (+3) (-120) New coach in LA (Vinny Del Negro). These players HATED Dunleavy. They are so happy to have someone else in charge. I think they come out focused. Blazers got bailed out by Wesley Matthews early in 4th to put the Suns away.
Thanks. It was a good fundamental situation. JJ Hickson will emerge as a big-timer this year. Cavs don't have enough talent over the long haul but these people talking about 20 some wins for the Cavs are out of their minds.
if you don't show the juice, does that mean the play is at -110?
