Wed 11/17 CBB 59-59-1 (-4.1) Starting to figure this out a little. Was 12 games under .500. 523/524 Indiana State/Ball State OV 127' ISU wants a faster pace here. Ball State won in Terre Haute last year. ISU has played 3 games, BSU with one. 527/528 UL Lafayette/Creighton UN 139' 527 UL Lafayette (+7) 1st H 527 UL Lafayette (+12') 1.5* I thought the hiring of Bob Marlin at ULL (from Sam Houston State) was one of the home run hires off the offseason. He installed a triangle and two defense that confused the hell out of Baylor in the tournament and he really is a good basketball mind. McDermott is a good replacement for Altman at Creighton. This could be a lookahead for the Jays. They have Iowa State, McDermott's previous coaching stop, this weekend in Des Moines. ULL got buried at home by New Mexico St, who just outathleted them and probably have 2 NBA players. I think they are better than that game. 529 South Alabama (+12') 1.5* I think So Miss is a real sleeper in CUSA.Eustachy is a good coach and his So Miss team plays excellent defense. That being said, they have real trouble scoring and this # is way too high. So Alabama also got beat at home by USM by 12 LY. 531 Green Bay (+15') Brian Wardle, former Marquette star, brings Green Bay to his alma mater. Green Bay is buying into Wardle's defensive concepts. He comes from the Izzo/Crean coaching tree. Green Bay has a load of kids (starters mainly) on their roster from Milwaukee that were lightly recruited by the big school (Marquette). Marquette, like Gonzaga (and also Kansas St and Duke) are guaranteed to play in the CBE Classic in Kansas City next week win or lose. Good spot for motivated underdogs. More later.
529/530 South Alabama/Southern Miss OV 129
521/522 Columbia/St John's OV 135 Big move on the under b/c of Johnnies lucky foul-fest over and Columbia coach is former Saint Mary's asst and you would think he and Randy Bennett would share info. SJU is going to play faster and get into the open court b/c they don't have shooters at all. 533 Drake (+7') Lost at home by 20 to ISU LY. 538 Middle Tenn (+4) 539 LMU (+5') Bradley had to fight to the end to beat Northern Illinois. NIU outplayed them the whole night. NIU had 20 TO's to 10 for Bradley. Bradley hit 10 3's to NIU's 4. There's the ball game. LMU disappointed out of the gate losing at home to a decent Morgan St club. 541 Utah State (+6') 541/542 Utah St/BYU OV 141' Love taking points with Stew Morrill. People look at BYU's NCAA performance and Utah St's from LY and undervalue the Aggies. 543/544 San Francisco/San Jose St OV 143
547 Boston U (+16) (-104) Former Jay Wright assistant Patrick Chambers coaches BU. BU is a senior and junior dominated team.

549/550 Missouri St/Tennessee UN 144' Mo State likes to spread the defense out just like Belmont did last night. Tennessee had problems with TO's (27) and now will have to play Skylar McBee at PG with starter Melvin Goins out tonight. I expect they may slow it down and take better care of the ball. Missouri St also had opportunity to get to NYC with a win here. They may not want to run with the Vols.
553/554 UW-Milwaukee/Niagara UN 140
559/560 Tennessee State/Illinois State UN 142 561/562 Montana/Utah UN 129
535 Houston (+2)
563 Rider (+6') 1st H
543 San Francisco (+5') 1.5*
