Wed 12/1 CBB

Wed 12/1 CBB 12-9 last night. 291-265-7 (+6.3) 525 George Wash (+13) GW lost at home to CAA bottom-feeder UNCW and Hampton before that. They are now without 2-guard Lasan Kromah, their best player. I think GW pulls together for the first game without him. 527 Northeastern (+8) 1.5* Providence is still atrocious on defense, esp in the interior. Northeastern is smart team. Providence still plays too herky-jerky and dumb. 530 Drexel (-8') (-105) Saint Joe's has won 3 in a row after a horrible start where Western Ky ran them out at home and they were never in game at Penn State. Drexel really good defensive team per usual and Saint Joe's starts three true freshmen. 531 Fordham (+14') (-103) Harvard off win over Big 12 Colorado where they shot the lights out. Also have a weekend trip to Michigan on deck. Total dead spot here against a club that won all of 2 games LY. I've never thought much of Amaker and Pecora is much better. 536 Miami OH (+7') 536 Xavier/Miami OH UN 128 Now at 127 or 126. Charlie Coles plays his usual murder schedule. Xavier has been living dangerously and is off triple OT win over Wofford. Miami got beat by 20 at Ohio St, but it was their best game of the year and they dictated tempo but were totally overwhelmed athletically. 537 Richmond/Old Dominion OV 122 Two good defensive teams. Should be close game decided by fouls late. 540 East Carolina (-5) Charlotte stepped up and won by 20 vs. Radford w/out suspended Shamari Spears. They were on the road at Charleston Classic and then went all the way out to Corvallis, OR without a stop at home. They just got back home and now go on the road (granted not a far trip, but psychological disadvantage). 541 Wright State (+11) Cincy crushed Dayton and held them to 34 pts, so surely they can crush the "B" team in the city of Dayton right?
549 FIU/Louisville OV 149' The game with Florida St showed that Isiah Thomas will just let his kids run when they are outathleted. 557 Purdue ML 557 Purdue/Virginia Tech OV 129' I played the ML when it equated to PU +1'. That being said, Purdue wins this game. They are off a loss where they were shooting in the low 20's for mmost of the game vs. Richmond. Va Tech got back to Blacksburg Monday afternoon and likely had a day off and only had one day to prep for the Boilers.
552 South Florida (+3) (-120) USF gets their PG Anthony Crater back tonight. Both teams played well in their tournaments (VCU at Preseason NIT and USF at South Padre). Still am unsure about VCU laying points here.
530 Saint Joe's/Drexel UN 135'

555 NC State/Wisconsin OV 127
553 Indiana/Boston College OV 129'
559 Butler (-3) I played 2', but -3 is WA. Butler is a step back obv from being national runner-up. Loyola started out unbeaten. Of course they are psyched for Butler. This is a classic "show em who's boss" game. The usual king of the conference vs. the young upstart. Young upstart on paper looks ready to take down the big dog, but end up falling short. I think that happens here.
570 Drake/Colorado St UN 140 563 Oklahoma/Arkansas OV 135
561 Arkansas St (+18) Arky St got monkey off their back with first win. Brady is a crafty coach. 573 BYU/Creighton OV 144' 576 UNLV/Illinois St UN 135 578 Southern Illinois (+2) 2*
549 FIU/Louisville OV 77 2nd H
