last years newbies.....2013 NEXT thread folks.....

Hi ! Im new ! Just signed up and bought the coupon book for our first trip to Vegas at the end of October!
Were from the UK and travelling to NYC for 3 days before spending hopefully 11 wonderful days in Las Vegas! Sooo excited & also glad ive stumbled across this forum
I may post some 'daft' questions between now and our arrival in Vegas (29th Oct) so please humour me..
Were staying at the Tropicana and hoping it is a nice as the reviews i have read thus far. Also hoping for some warm weather (as warm as possible) as our 'UK Summer' has been ... rubbish

Natowls82: The end of Oct is an excellent time to visit LV. The weather is usually beautiful. Short sleeves and shorts...the typical USA uniform (you accept Indians wearing saris, accept us wearing our uniform...shorts, shirt and tennis shoes). About 1/2 of the pools close on Oct 15 so call your hotel and check if the pool will be open. I think Tropicana is still open. They did an overhaul at Tropicana and the casino, while small, is very nicely done and they kept the amazing stained glass ceiling. Gorgeous. They have nice low minimums at their tables but their machines are tight and vp pay schedules are poor. I would stay there and play table games there, but there are much better options for better machines. Try www.vpfree2 for the best video poker in all of the casinos.
