10/13-16 College Football

10/13-16 College Football 40-35-1 last week. 166-140-4 Season (54.3%) Wednesday: 101/102 Central Florida/Marshall UN 44' 102 Marshall (+5') UCF looked very impressive in crushing UAB LW on a weeknight primetime game and a tad overvalued here. Marshall off a bye and have been good at home this year. Thursday: 105 South Florida (+10') USF looked abysmal LW against Cuse and had under 220 yds. West Virginia bombed UNLV. USF's defense is solid and held Cuse and W Kentucky to season-low yardage. They really haven't beaten anyone good, which is why this line is over DD. Bill Stewart against Skip Holtz is a bit of a mismatch.
Friday: 108 Louisville (+3) Taking the last 3 while I can. UC was -17 LY and buried the Cards, 41-10. That loss essentially ended the Kragthorpe era. U of L is only allowing 327 ypg defensively under new defensive-minded coach Strong. They played 3 fairly good offenses as well (Kentucky, Oregon St and Arkansas St). Held Oregon St to 307 in Corvallis.
123 NC State (-7) (-105) 123/124 NC State/East Carolina OV 66' (-106) ECU defense is horrific. They somehow won at Southern Miss (winner for me) when they were down 20-0 after 1 and they committed 4 TO's (-4 TO Margin). Southern Miss had like 160 yds in penalties and that's what caused them the game. NC State a much more disciplined team and better coached.
157 Boston College (+22) Will also play BC in the 1st half when lines come out. BC hasn't covered a game all year and Florida State has buried their L4 teams, including "The U" on the road by 28. They have a bye week on deck before a Thurs meeting at NC State. BC and Dave Shinskie stunk up the joint LW at NC State. I think FSU will have a half-assed effort here and just get by.

117/118 Maryland/Clemson OV 47 (-120)
119 Illinois (+7) Michigan State off big wins over Wisconsin and at Michigan. Now they come back to East Lansing for HC. Flat spot. Sparty laid -4 LY at Illini when they were 2-3 and won 24-14 and now only lay 7 when they are 6-0? Fishy fishy. 121 Minnesota (+6) One of my better ones of the week. Purdue off an upset at Northwestern. Purdue deserved to cover, but was lucky to win b/c of NW's problems in the kicking game. The Cats fumbled a punt (led to Purdue FG), had a FG blocked and missed the game-tying kick with 1:00 to go. Backup and now starting QB Rob Henry is a good runner but he is a run-first guy. He was only 6-18 for 47 yards passing. Brewster for the Gophers is not that smart of a coach, but I have to think he is smart enough to stack the box and make this kid Henry beat them through the air. Purdue gave up over 300 yds passing to Northwestern. Gophers QB Adam Weber is avg 241 yds and 12-4 ratio. Purdue has a bad secondary. Purdue is not a good team and Minny, who is on a 5-game losing streak, will actually believe they can win here. They also may be a little pissed off about Wisconsin going for 2, up 25 with 6 min left. 199/200 Arkansas St/Indiana OV 65 Loved Arky St but missed the +14 and no longer interested. However, this total is still playable. Arky St gives up almost 475 yds of offense. IU's Ben Chappell can throw all day long on these guys. Plus, IU's secondary is banged up and still bottom of the barrel in the Big 10. Arky State loves to throw the ball and they will get their opportunities here.

Lines moving the other way......
Looks like the good Doctor pissed all over this one.
Any new info???
Nothing new that I saw. Just a highly respected guy on the other side. I still think Marshall is in a decent spot. I just would have rather had a point better on the #, but you aren't always going to get the best # on every game.
125 Vanderbilt (+15) (-109) Georgia got a little bit right LW with the win over Tennessee. However, I am not convinced all is well in Athens. Georgia has a revenge spot with Kentucky on deck and then the Cocktail Party with Florida after that. Flat spot as a big homecoming favorite here.
