10/21-23 College Football

10/21-23 College Football 193-173-7 (52.7%) Should have just sat on a hot record the first few weeks like some others did, but that's not how I roll. I play everything I like (even some marginals) to reduce loss risk. I know people look at my record and probably think I suck, but I'll let people think that if they want. 362 Oklahoma State (+6) (-109) Nebraska got exposed last week and now that they have pulled the young freshman QB Martinez, they may have ruined his confidence. They had a senior QB Lee who lost his job. I think that may not sit to well with the team now that they have lost. Put up or shut up time for Oklahoma St.
Friday: 303 South Florida (+8') (-109) Looked bad LW at West Virginia, but Cincy doesn't have the quality of a defense. On defense, USF held West Virginia under 300 yds and held Syracuse to 307. Cincy gave up 228 on the ground at Louisville (6.7 per carry).
335 Iowa State (+22) Last time with Iowa St. They got whacked by Utah and were shutout at Oklahoma. Texas off huge win at Nebraska. Now the media refrain is "Texas's demise was premature". Iowa State's seniors may show a little pride here. They got beat 56-3 in Ames back in 07' when the seniors were freshman. Texas has a great defense, but the offense is lacking in spots.

317 Marshall (+12') Marshall an ugly dog, but not that ugly when you think about it. They lost at home on national TV on Wednesday and East Carolina beat a decent ACC club NC State at home. That being said, ECU ranks in the bottom 15 in all defensive categories. Laying points with a bad defense is not a good idea as bad as Marshall may be. Plus, ECU has a road game at UCF next week and both teams are likely to be unbeaten in the Eastern Div of Conference USA. ECU turned it over 4 times on Saturday (so did NC St) and still won. They also turned it over 4 times at Southern Miss the week before and also still won. Eventually that is going to catch up with them, even against a 1-5 Marshall team. Remember that the talent gap in Conference USA from top to bottom is really not that great.
You are winning and you put out good info. That's all that matters.
I know you're right. I just get overwhelmed this time of year with everything going on (football, basketball upcoming, hockey, soccer, added sports like MMA, and I pretty much just coattail baseball from a friend of mine). I'm spending a lot of time prepping for college baskets and that takes time away from football stuff. There needs to be 36 hours in a day.
You play far to many for me on some sports but I certainly make money off of your small sport selections. I f'd up and missed your UFC picks Saturday but it seemed you won virtually every pick. Keep them coming!!
331 Syracuse (+14') Cuse lost LW at home vs. Pitt 45-14 due to 4 TO's. So the bloom is off the rose for Cuse and they were a fraud. Ah, but wait. This gives us value here. West Virginia got held under 300 yds by USF. West Va laid -10 LY at a terrible Cuse team and won by 21, yet they are at home where they have a good HFA and only lay 2 TDs to a slightly improved Cuse team? 308 Louisville (+2) (-107) UConn is off a bye and Edsall has the coaching edge over Strong. However, the Cards are really improving the last 3 weeks even though they lost at home to Cincy last Friday. Coaching is important but players on the field decide it and I think Louisville is better than UConn on the field.
315 Maryland (+4) (-105) Terps outyarded Clemson but was -3 TO margin. BC went to Fla St and covered easily, but FSU was off big win at Miami and was looking forward to bye week and gave a half-assed effort like I thought they would. BC is the same bad team they were before their cover at FSU. Maryland has more big-play guys and held a good Clemson running team to only 94 yards on the ground. BC ran well on FSU, but were only 9-24 for 95 yards passing. BC also had a +4 TO margin at FSU LW. That usually reverses or returns to usual form the next week.
313 Georgia Tech (+6) Clemson only gained 213 yards on Maryland LW and ran 44 times for 94 yards. They had a +4 TO Margin. Better team with better coach getting points. 325 Purdue (+24) Unbeaten no more letdown game. I like to go against teams in the game right after the one where they suffered their first loss. Ole Miss easily covered at Alabama in this spot.
