133 Troy-6.5 1 weight

Right, and UTEP -8 isn't good when UTEP -5' was available. If I read you right, Goats, UTEP -6 wasn't good either, since it wasn't the absolute cheapest at the time?

This is subjective stuff, I was just making the point that taking bad numbers is a tough way to win, that's all. Sure there are times when not-quite-the-best # is still good.
Sorry I was just thinking out loud. Trying to learn as much as possible.
This Troy # was -3 -110 at the Greek for days after the lines came out too. good movement to say the least!
Taking -7 when you could have had -6.5 or better is not the way to win betting football.
A good rule of thumb, though one I've learned to not be too hung up on in the first couple of games in the college football and basketball seasons. Lines tend to be a lot less accurate. And practice field info is a lot more important this week than any other, particularly with seeing how a team is taking to a new offense or new defense. That being said, a good rule of thumb overall, especially with the involvement of the 7 in college football. I've got -6.5 (-115) but would play at -7. I have great admiration for TwoNiner and Dude. They've got A&M -9. The more single-team teasers you can play the better.
Someone outdid all of you....... Aug 9 1:52pm Football - Pending 400.00 to win 363.64 1. Football - North Texas - spread +24½ (-110) .....no go on TROY -6.5-120.....PASS!!
i salivated all summer knowing i'd catch 21'+, but i couldn't get down in time (18'). seeing this makes me sick......and envious. my understanding is that the 20+ numbers did not last long.

Troy -6.5 -110 good bet! -115 marginal -120 wait for better stuff IMO
I bet Troy at -6 -110 on betjam back on the 12th of August. I graduated from Bowling Green and after graduation got a job in the area so I still closely follow the team and go to scrimmages and practices. Coach Clawson said in his press conference monday "Anytime you have a quarterback, two or three receivers and a legitimate tailback and are good upfront, you can't go into the game and say if we can stop the passing game they can't run it and if we can stop the running back they can't throw it there a very balanced offense and this will be a great challenge for our defense." I think this basically says it all in this game that the inexperience of the BG defense will not be able to stop this Troy offense. BG will have many problems I think in this first game with the replacing of their full front 4 on the D-Line. They are drastically undersized also in that front 4 compared to the lineman of Troy. Lang and Sheffield should create a lot of havoc for this offensive line. Especially on the right side of that offensive line I expect DC Jeremy Rowell to blitz heavy on that side since both RG Scott Albert and RT Tyler Donahue are making their first career starts. BGSU has brought in a whole new coaching staff and only two graduate assistants return to the team. On that note they also have brought in a new Offensive Line Coach in John McDonell who has had to help change blocking schemes as Head Coach Dave Clawson wants to be able to run the ball more than the last few years they have primarily been a spread passing team. When Coach McDonell was asked in an interview about is it very hard to change blocking out of the spread compared to a more traditional offense set he said quote "No doubt about it." With him saying that I could see BG having just some major problems in this first game with how the line holds together. The only problem I see is the secondary doesn't have much experience for Troy but I believe that the front 7 will make up for it. BG has the same problem in the secondary as they are starting two cornerbacks that have zero starts but safeties Jahmal Brown and PJ Mahone should help them out. This is just my input and hope it helps you with any decisions. Good Luck
