194 UCLA -18, 2 weight
Any news come out or did someone release the opposite side?
no clue here
What is the significance of 18-20 spread? Is it that UCLA has been destoryed by BYU AND Utah in the past two years by a total of 100-6?
A perfect example that every 1/2 points counts. No dead numbers, especially in college football. We ended up with S D St, a tie vs Pinny, a winner with our locals. -18 is a winner; -20 a loser!
I see your point, but also want to note in the 50 or so games posted this weekend, this happened a single time. Is .5 the same whether the spread is 7,12,19,23,34,41? I would think not, but that's why I'm here; to learn.
certainly some 1/2 points are worth more than others but os' point is that all 1/2 points have some value and line shopping can make the difference on any game. last night before kickoff, you would much rather have vtech +7 than vtech +6.5 and as it turned out it didn't matter one ioata. however, having sd st +18.5 n not +19 made a huge difference.

#192 Arizona opened at 12 1/2 and closed at 14. They won by 13.
#202 Texas had a low line of 38 and a high line of 42. Now, that is 3 losers that could have been winners, or 3 winners that might have turned into losers. 3 out of 36 games, 8.3%. Think of turning 8% of your losers into winners! The same holds true for totals.
This points out my big objection to Shooter's causal attitude toward lines. IMO, unless you post current lines, AT THE TIME of your post, your "record" is questionable. E.G., posting S J St +35, when 33 was the current line is seriously flawed. Shooters' analysis seems quite solid, but he needs to post plays at current lines.
lol. old school (king of the offscreen local dealin' donkey shaded lines) questioning other's lines.... I'm pretty sure shooter said he bet shit earlier... not that I give two shits about his posted record.
Can't always post anywhere near when you bet. Fezzik never seems to post at current lines, or at least I can never get the lines he posts at. Since record tracking isn't done, what does it matter anyway? There are now two types of folks who don't track... A MUCH bigger objection for me re Shooter would be having 60 or however many picks - clearly not much discrimination going on, just taking what looks good at the time. If it works for him, more power to him, but it doesn't help me a lick and that's what I am here for. 38-20 or what ever it was is a great week, but 60 picks per week will likely end up very near 360-360 by the end of the season. This board seems much like every other board, except it costs $25 per month to see folks make random picks. Let's face it, I (and probably the lion's share of the subscribers) am mainly interested in seeing what Fezzik does. I'd love to see a separate page for Fezzik picks so they are all in one place and easy to get to without so much "wading." I'm putting the whole board on notice.
I would tend to agree with the Fezz plays. I missed several the opening week b/c I never saw them after I joined on 9/1. It would be nice to have a weekly thread at the very least.
