267 Texas +5, 3 weight

267 Texas +5, 3 weight This line is just a bad one. All year long, we all debated who was the best team, Fla or Alabama or Texas. We all agreed Fla was No1, and Tx/Bama kept getting flip flopped. After Bama should have lost to Ten, and Texas was murdering teams like TTech and Ok state ON THE ROAD, Tex got moved up to no.2 Ok, Bama was as good as Fla, and proved it, in a a great revenge spot. Remember, they had waited ALL YEAR for that game, and had pointed to it. Now, fat drunk and happy, they sail on to Pasadena with a Heisman on board. Apparently everyone is forgetting TExas was power rated HIGHER prior to the great Bama/bad Texas weekend. But THAT was a bad spot for Texas, a great one for Bama magnified by Fla's best offensive player compromised with the injury midyear, and their best Defensive player blowing a .25 while driving. With the knowledge that they were cheated out of their chance last year, a Texas team that has literally kicked ass for 2 years, is going to put a boot in this team's ass.....it's the Texas way. I know the Nebraska game was ugly. But that is what Nebraska does....and if they don't turn the ball over 18 times vs. Iowa State, ANd if they don't donk away a won game in Blacksburgh, 11-1 Nebraska would have been ranked No.7 prior to that game, and we wouldn't be writing off Texas like we are. THIS ONE IS GONNA BE A WAR!! And NO WAY Bama is the right side here.
Agreed but lets clariy a few points. Bama is not "as good"as Florida. They proved clearly superior. Fat and Happy? Sabin teams rarely get fat and happy and with the biggest game of their lives on front them you see that happpening? Not me. Texas is solid on both sides of the ball with a very good playmaking QB who can make enough plays to keep this one close.
surprised you released this already. i had figured we'd see 6 or more by kickoff gl though. definitely hope you win this one

It all depends La Lafayeet revenge not worth as much as a 1-loss team revenge.......
so in a situation like fla/ala last week how much did revenge play into your handicapping?
Have Bama on future to win BCS and wasn't going to bet any Texas but likely will now with such a high opinion from you - try for a middle. But I disagree Bama is fat and happy - they are playing for the national championship and I don't think a SEC title will mean much to them if they lose. Also, I think the Big 12 was way down this year - wins over Okie, Okie St, and TT don't look so hot. Finally, I think it's a coaching mismatch too. Bama destroyed Florida and they could very well do the same here because Texas can't run the ball and keep them honest. I just feel something has been missing with this Texas team, which I expected to be a monster this year, and that they may be running into a buzz saw here - but one thing is for sure, Bama doesn't haven't anyone close to Suh and has been vulnerable at times - think McCoy will have to run for a lot of FD's to keep this thing competitive.

THIS ONE IS GONNA BE A WAR!! And NO WAY Bama is the right side here.[/QUOTE] I'm way too smart to argue with a guy who makes his living betting sports but I'd like to make a couple of observations as food for thought... 1) In the Tennessee game, Bama had a 9 point lead with just under 3 minutes to play. The only reason Tennessee has a shot is because Ingram fumbles the ball for only the first time in his career and then Tennessee gets the ball on an onside kick. What are the odds of getting the onside kick? Under 5%? But even with all of this going Tennessee's way...Bama finds a way to win! 2) Tebow, Florida's best offensive player, wasn't feeling any effects from his midyear injury. What he was feeling was the hits Bama's defense was putting on him! 3) And while it might have helped keep the score down somewhat had Dunlap been in the game for Florida's defense, the outcome was not going to change. Even one of the announcers made that comment. He said, "Having Dunlap wouldn't have made a difference." 4) All the Nebraska game did was show what a great defense can do to Texas' offense. Does anyone think Alabama's defense is any less formidable than Nebraska's D? 5) And speaking of Defense...Texas "D" didn't look too good when Texas A&M put 39 points up on them Thanksgiving Night. Is Bama's "O" not just as potent as A&M's? 6) Then there's the Colorado and Oklahoma games. Colorado is close until late in the 3rd quarter until Colorado TO's change the whole complexion of the game. And Texas just barely beats Oklahoma 16-13 when Bradford goes out early and the Sooners have to play the rest of the game with an untested backup at QB. The point to all this nonsense is simply that a team has to be very lucky and sometimes win "ugly" to go undefeated. Both Alabama and Texas did that and that's all that matters. If Bama comes into this game "fat drunk and happy", Texas will annihilate them. But if something Rolando McClain did at the end of the Florida game is any indication, that won't be the team's demeanor. A good friend of mine was on the sidelines for the Florida game. He told me several of the younger players were going to give Coach Saban a Gaterade bath but Rolando stopped them saying, "Get the hell back over there, we've still got one more game before we celebrate!" That doesn't sound like a man who's going to let his team let down before the job is done. It's going to be a great game and may the best team win!
I think -5 is a pretty fair line. If Texas hits 7 for some reason the "Bama is going to kill them" crowd goes out of control then I'll take Texas. Really doubt it could get to 7 though
It really is crazy how much lines change from one week or even one play this late in the season. If Lawrence misses that game winning field goal for Texas (and somehow they still played this game) Bama might be as high as 6.5. On the other hand if WR Kirkendall makes a fairly easy catch for a would be TD last week, Texas beats Nebraska by a margin and we are looking at Bama -2 at most.
