267 Texas +5, 3 weight
but the consensus among reputable power raters/linemakers in the community had Texas rated as a 1-point favorite over Alabama prior to last weekend's conference championship games. Post championship games, I made Alabama minus 3. Good luck, Paul
I think the refinements to most power rankings over the course of the season pound out what the relative strengths within the conferences are, while never really straightening out the relationships between conferences. For example, Sagarin has Alabama (96.21), Florida (93.37), Texas (92.84) as the top 3, while Nutshell has Texas (139.8), Oklahoma (135.68), TCU (132.88), Florida (132.15) and then at #5 Bama (128.93). Nutshell has been a far better predictor of winners against the spread during the second half of the season, when most games are in-conference (53.8% vs 47.7%), but not many will agree that Oklahoma is currently the second most powerful team in the country. Of course, clumping doesn't matter much unless the match-ups are out of conference.
just mentioning this SABAN quote after they beat florida for thread discussion. "we played perfect in every phase of the game"
Did ANYONE have Albama rated higher than Texas BEFORE last week? Those with a one week memory NEVER win over the long run.
Badwater, Yes sir, good point, Texas was -1 prior to the nation seeing the 2 games last weekend. Funny, how people overreact. Good Luck
What linesmakers had this line? There is no god damn way CRIS opens Texas as a fav if they played last week.

Dr. Bob had Alabama rated much higher than Texas before last week.
seems to be working well whatever he is doing....even if it's just clapping on the sidelines. but i'm sure you'd know what goes on in the Texas locker rooms and such so i'll defer to your wisdom and stuff
thanks for the monies mack
