There were some moments it looked like under was going to get there in the 1st half yet that went over too. The 3 year trend is now a 4 year trend. Undeniably in the time I've watched there is general agreement the effort is much higher. The NFC D certainly seemed to play to a high degree of effort.
There are a few plays under bettors certainly would like back. The Luck fumble, the fumbled hand off on the reverse return, maybe a play Wilson went on 4th down they scored, I didn't even think the AFC TD should have counted where the receiver dropped the ball in the end zone, the short kick off, Manning's TD pass at the end of the 1st half, maybe the KO return by Washington. I hear there was an earlier TD for a 5 yd drive. Obviously this will happen in all star games but we are dealing with 80-85 pts. we can survive 2 or 3 easy scores you would think. I think with a few of these plays just giving a different result I think the under would have been much more in play but I'm still not saying a winner. Just a much better shot.
I don't think I have won a bet under on this pro bowl game yet or at least that I remember. I also got -2.5 at Sportsinteraction on 2nd half on this game. I think the line got to 4 to 4.5 maybe higher and that is another dead loser.
Some of the plays that I'm mentioning above though of course a sharp bettor has to ask themselves "Am I unfortunate?" OR "Am I just not sharp and didn't think through more scenarios?" No doubt it is bit of both. The bet wasn't "players giving more effort". Actually they did and in some cases it hurt the under quite a bit...Leon Washington and Wilson come to mind and I thought the NFC made sure they stomped them. I have to agree competitive doesn't need to mean less points but I figured the odds were it would be a factor to be less. I think there were quite a few examples of that from the NFC D. But definitely Jefff right competitive didn't need to mean less points.
I'll probably be under 87 next year. All of that happened and they only got to 97? Looking forward to next year. LOL
