Add Clemson coach to the list...
That's why you send your defense out first. I don't deny and I AGREE with you that he fucked up at end of regulation by not taking one extra shot. Sending your defense out in OT is the right thing to do. They hold Miami to 3. They get the ball at the 25. If they don't turn it over and gain zero yardage, then the worst case scenario is a 42-yd FG.
I agree in most cases...and I'm glad Clemson won because I think Kyle Parker is going to be a superstar. But when you don't take advantage of basically the same scenario you had in regulation and you had Miami's defense completely worn out, in this case I would take advantage and go right back at them. Nonetheless Clemson won converting a 3rd and 11 from the 26 for a TD when they had a couple of the same opportunities waiting on them in regulation from the 12 if they just managed clock correctly. They won despite the coach...not because of him.
Burger, if you think the coach should take the ball first in OT, you have even less sense than I originally thought. And trust me, that's not much.

And by the way... I have a college degree specializing in health, human performance, kinesiology....with an emphasis on coaching. Do you?
You must select "d' option in OT An enormous edge........
An enormous edge........
No Brainer--agree 100% here
No Brainer--agree 100% here
But Burger has a degree in coaching!!
Coaching Decisions Same game. How about Miami getting a first down at Clemson's 30 yard with 25 seconds to go in the first half with one time out left and calling a time out? Miami HC Randy Shannon has the IQ of a pidgeon. Just spike the ball, moron don't call a timeout when the clock is already stopped. Then to top off the problem they get a delay of game penalty off the time out. Another BCS coach from a major conference earning less than a million dollars. You hire on the cheap you get subpar coaching on the sidelines.
Again, we'll state - every major football program should have a mathmetician on the staff to run time outs, 4th downs, etc

Comment I never said I'm perfect but when you make an average of two mistakes like this every year that cost you big games then you have to start wondering is this the right guy for the job. Shannon can recruit and keep his troops in line but he has no idea how to coach or manage the clock at the end of games. I watch and study more game tape than most college coaches. Do I think I'm qualified, hell yes. I also had a 37-5 record as a QB in high school and have two national championship rings from playing college football. Anything else you want ocomment on?
