Advice on survivor pool

Advice on survivor pool First year doing this (surprised I haven't over the years)... Basically the set up is simple. 200$ buy in (About 200 players) and winner takes all. Have to pick 1 team to win, can't pick team more than once in a season. Straight up no points... So if any of you have any experience in these do you knock out your so called "easy ones" first? For example do I waste the Ravens in week 1 to beat the Chiefs or the Saints to beat the Lions? Or does it make any sense at all to get "riskier" in the first few weeks since you have to win the whole thing to make any money anyway? Thanks in advance. burg
bigger favs n let the squares knock themselves out. if you're still around when it gets serious strategy becomes more important.
Gotta go Ravens KC 5th worst team in the NFL.......you want to save the Det L for later.........
KC 5th worst team in the NFL.......you want to save the Det L for later.........
Take a look at the New Orleans schedule....there is probably not a better spot to use them than this week. Maybe vs. the Jets? I have two simple rules: 1) If at all possible, never use a road team 2) If at all possible, stay away from divisional matchups and while keeping this in mind, try to stay away from the largest point spread game. In my pool, the majority of the players play the largest spread game. It's inevitable that there will be upsets taking out large amounts of players. My pool has had over 300+ players over the years. By week 8, historically, 2/3's are gone.
on Yahoo so far: NO 40% Bal 17% SD 13% NE 6% Min 5% Sea 4% Ari 3% GB/Chi the only one with both sides at 0% Does this data help anyone determine whether a team is more or less public than average?
KC 5th worst team in the NFL.......you want to save the Det L for later.........
I was originally going Balt as well but.... Now I'm thinking use NO in week one and save Balt for when they play the Lions later. Maybe I should re-adjust my thinking. Thanks everyone for posting...I really appreciate it.
KC 5th worst team in the NFL.......you want to save the Det L for later.........
I would have placed KC lower. Who are the other 3, besides Detroit?
Oakland, Arizona, Denver, I'd say. All the shitty teams are in the West this year.
Arizona?!? No doubt you meant StLou. You're showing your age, associating teams with their old homes.
