Alabama a wrong side winner

Alabama a wrong side winner IMO, Alabama clearly was a lucky winner. Texas lost their best player early in the first quarter. Alabama scores a lucky TD at the end of the first half, and two lucky TDs at the end. Final score is no indication of the difference between the two teams. Baring injuries, I still would rate Texas a 1 or 2 point favorite. Lots of luck in sports betting. Think of all the games were the ATS result would have been different if just one play was changed. With today's sharp lines, shopping and timing is more important than handicaping.
You make great points. I agree on alot you said. I thought the Horns might just comeback and pull the "houdini". However, in the end, Bama was the right side to be on tonight! What could of , should of, etc, is a moot point now.
Keep deluding yourself. Alabama right side winner!
We have no idea what would have happened had McCoy not gotten hurt. None. I know Bama is a better team but that is my opinion. Not a wrong side winner. We have no idea. Bama was up big early and coasted and almost blew it.

I agree with Old School. However, sure, nobody knows what would have happened with McCoy playing the entire game. But, if you don't think there would have been a difference in the quality of Longhorn offensive play with McCoy versus Gilbert, I believe you are kidding yourself. Bama might have been the right side to be on regardless of injuries, but that is unknown. It is hard to imagine McCoy playing as poorly as Gilbert, though. We'll never know. It's one game in the scheme of life of betting.
Alabama was NOT up early, Texas was! At least until their best player got hurt!
It was 24-6 at the half and Bama was up before that. That is early enough. Kruger is right and agrees. We have no idea what would have happened. TO say Bama is a wrong side winner is wrong. We do not know.

Alabama scored a TD on an int returned for a TD with 3 seconds left in first half (what in hell was Brown thinking when he called that play?) Those last two TDs were a gift from the gods for all of the Alabama bettors. I thought we were going to push when Texas closed to 3. Lots of luck in sports, and, in this game, Alabama got almost all the lucky breaks!

If they were behind or it was even they would have done more offensively. As far as Bama defense making plays? Well that is what the best defense in the country does...they make plays and win sometimes all by themeselves. They won every single game in the best conference in the country, destroyed Florda who everyone said was the best team and the favorite and also the defending national champ. They then go play Texas and the QB gets hurt early. It does not diminsh what they have done. This team dominated the best conference and the best team.
