Alf M's Football NFL Thread Week #16

Alf M's Football NFL Thread Week #16 105 Detroit +3.5.........OFF this game, Shaun Hill and his broken right index finger is going to start for Detroit instead of Stanton who has a non throwing shoulder injury. Detroit wins their first road game in 26 tries and now we are on them to repeat? Yes, the Lions are playing better football than the Dolphins who have struggled mightily on offense scoring 14, 10 and 10 L3, they were shut out by the Bears as well 5 weeks ago. Last week vs Buffalo, Miami missed 4 field goals, not only having trouble in the red zone, but their kicking game too boot. If you haven't noticed, Lion's QB Drew Stanton has performed extraordinarily well, we like that he moves the chains on 3rd down and LW in O.T. Detroit got the ball first, 9 plays later 63 yds and a FG to win. 124 Oakland +3 The Raiders are still alive for a playoff spot. Slim, but at home and the chance to possibly spoil the Colts playoff hopes, I envision a solid effort. They run the ball well, 264 yds LW and stop the run, held the Chargers to 21 yds. The Colts have been super fortunate with a few back-door wins and covers. I made the Colts -1 and +3 or more is there for the taking. 132 Atlanta -2.5 Hard to believe this number has not moved, perhaps the Holidays have curtailed the action, but on Monday we expect Falcons money. Atlanta's QB Matt Ryan is 19-1 at home and happy to be back after 3 straight on the road. But this bet is against the Saints who have won with mirrors lately with flukey wins at Dallas, at Cincy and last week should be battered and bruised after losing to the Ravens. RB Chris Ivory who has carried the bulk of the running game is very questionable with a hammy and it should be Atlanta running and controling the clock.
I bet a couple of these too including the Raiders. This is more for your own handicap and perhaps it isn't even significant in your work to this game but I noticed you indicated the Raiders stop the run. I have to think that SD game is a total outlier. The last 7 years this is the worst team in the league stopping the run. I thought I saw JAX put over 200 yards on them on the ground a few weeks ago. Numerous games they get ripped apart on the ground. I think it is better their run D than other years especially on some called 3rd down run blitzes in short yardage but still pretty vulnerable I think in aggregate.
I am off Detroit, Shaun Hill and his broken right index finger is going to start for Detroit instead of Stanton who has a non throwing shoulder injury.
