That Ben Tate is a real slouch.
I didn't bet the game, but i was considering it early in the week. Some thoughts on the game:
The Foster/Tate thing. Not exactly a huge dropoff (but who knows how long Tate plays either?)
Andre Johnson is back this week. Just a warmup game for the playoffs, but he's expected to see around 20 snaps. Obviously a plus.
TJ Yates. With him having started only 4 or 5 games so far, you'd think they would want to squeeze in as much game experience into him as they can before the playoffs start. But on the other hand, can they afford to risk losing yet ANOTHER quarterback? Could go either way...
Lastly, what team (especially a young, up-and-coming team with no playoff exerience to speak of) wants to stumble into the playoffs on a 3-game losing streak?
Definitely some factors that might indicate a decent amount of effort by the Texans today. Still kinda risky though.
