AZ CARDS, 4th and 1, 5:00 to go, TEN 45, PUNT

Twioniner - correct. Also, Tenn had 2 timeouts throughout on that last drive, so it forced AZ to cover the entire field instead of the sidelines. Okay, I know not a good example, but Tenn did have the two timeouts as safety, so that certainly helped. If AZ got the 1st down, Tenn would have had to go the length of the field with no timeouts. Very tough to do.
I would never try to block Fgs from the outsider rushers also The offsides/roughing incidences are GREATER than the blocks. You block kicks effectively with up the middle rushers. The sideline guys should be stopping the fakes, AND be there to scoop up blocks.....
1st/2nd and goal from 8-10 yard line for a poor rushing offense. My Houston Texans continually run the ball in this situation. 1st and goal from the 9 becomes 2nd and goal from the 7 or 6... What does that accomplish? Giving up almost all of your ability to score on that 1st down running play from the 9 is not worth the couple of yards gained on the play. 3 shots at the endzone IS MUCH BETTER.
Started from the 1. They drove the field, and fumbled. Back again at the 1. Ditto. When will coaches realize that if you are up under 7 and you give up the ball, you don't have a massive edge, just the advantage. I am convinced I should be making 2 million a year for an NFL team, just barking out the right call. While ranting, I might add I will 1. Program my D to look for 2nd and 10 runs after unsuccessful passes on 1st down. Teams run WAY too often here, something like 70%. 2. When facing 3rd or 4th and short, I NEVER use a 'jumbo' backfield. I use 4 WRs and my running back finds a hole more often than not. 3. About 20 other things including my basic stratetgy facing fourth and 3 or less at midfield or past it, is to ALWAYS go unless I can find a good reason NOT to (a good example would be with a good kicker 4 and 3 from the opponents 25.
At some point the other team makes adjustments to what you do. These ideas work because no one does them. Of COURSE you would then do something else with an equally high success rate because now they're expecting you to be "unconventional."
I am convinced I should be making 2 million a year for an NFL team, just barking out the right call.
Wasn't it just $500,000 a few weeks ago? I agree though. 2mil is more in line. :)
if maximizing profits was your goal, then you went into the wrong business.
reasons why they may not have gone for it 1) it was 4th and > 1 yard according to Fox. More like 1.5 yards. 2) Hightower has had a history of not getting the short yardage gains in previous games (I've paid attn since he's on my fantasy team) 3) Beanie is a rookie and may not be used to these types of situations 4) Warner is not playing...do you trust Leinart? 5) Az coaches didnt they Tenny could go 90+ yards 6) They had just seen Belichek go for it and not make it and him taking a bunch of sh** for doing it. They were trying to avoid a similar fate i'm glad they punted...any chance someone can hit Warner in the head again so he'll sit out a few more games? I have a few total TDs props pending
