Best Bets and strategy The Handle is now 10-5-1 in his best bets and 42-33-2 vs. the spread for the year from my Toronto Sun. However, this week I'm not sure I'm on the same side in a few of his best bets. Starting off with the good news he's on Buffalo as a best bet which I'm already on as I wrote in another thread. But his 2 other plays are going against some info I have. He's on the Colts and the Texans as best bets. I'm not sure I like either of those really. The argument is compelling on the Colts: They're energized, have confidence, have the better QB. I think the case on the Jets is that the Colts might be caught overconfident. The Jets are similar to the Bills in that they are 2-3 but they've lost to the 49ers and Texans---nothing to be ashamed of there even if at home. I'm going to stick with the Jets but not make it a big play and hope they can get it done. The Texans are cruising to the playoffs and the Packers need this game in a big way. The Cushing injury probably doesn't change the Texans as being a top team but it is a star player who will be out. I think if you are on the Packers you have to bet at least +4 so it is a play that can only be selectively bet for me. I'm going to go against the handle again on this one. It is very hard to find anyone not betting the Broncos or the Browns. Sharp money has been all over these plays. For those of you with a Bodog account they are still being dealt at +3 with inflated juice. A good opportunity to bet that play with a teaser from that number if you like it. Unfortunately, the 3 got knocked off in the San Diego game before limits increased. I think Fez is right on his pick on the Chiefs. I'd like to know why that line went against him in that game. There doesn't seem to be much to really like about the Bucs and the Chiefs have been decent at the line of scrimmage but too many TO have hurt them. TB is off the bye and with Quinn at QB I suppose TB should be favoured but 4.5 seems big. All sharp bettors on the Seahawks. The Handle on them. Dr. Bob on them. Fez on them.....nothing else to do but bet them at more than 3. I am on the Cowboys and Dolphins and maybe I'll take a shot on the Eagles at the lower number and the Giants at the higher number.
