Betmaker (CRIS) Betting Exchange It's been a few weeks now since they started this up and I don't think it's going well or heading in the right direction. First and foremost they are charging too much for commission and that is going to doom them more than anything else. With their commission structure they are pricing themselves uncompetitively. None of the big marketmakers are going to get involved and I'm not understanding why that is not important to them. A post-up betting exchange for recreational bettors is not going to be successful when it is clearly inferior to Matchbook. Is anybody else here even playing Betmaker? I have been at it since it started up but I'm ready to bail if changes are not made real soon. Wrong execution of the right idea.

I agree completely. Took one look at the thin NFL market over the weekend and laughed. I won't get involved unless there is more liquidity and they won't get the liquidity with 2% commission or w/e. Not surprising they weren't smart enough to figure that out.

It looks like they don't have college football posted on Monday afternoon? I've never really understood the laziness by the exchanges in this regard.. Get the next games up as soon as possible, so people can start trading. Matchbook waiting so long to post the next day's baseball is another example of this.

What is the commision structure? 2% is the max they can charge IMO....... Do they charge it for offers and acceptors? As we know MB charges 1% to acceptors, -.2% for offerers

I looked at it weeks ago - even if they did lower comm fuck knows what it is -4% or something - no chance as they dont have the staff to seed the exchange - very intense business model. they had a go at it a while back and did not last but a few months...second go now Cris have huge fucking square credit stuff out of the east coast so big that it would make your eyes water...why do they even need to go there....brainless....they bought the exchange from betlaspalmas who are under water at the moment...

Someone explain what this is to me. I'm all about learning.

This morning I see no markets available. Anyone know what's up?
