Black Sunday for some Pros
a couple brash statements here. i know handfuls of sharp bettors who have lost over a given 365 day period. if you think you are immune to this in some way, you have alot to learn. as far as books are concerned, if you are referring to mb and pin it makes sense. others, not so.
I'm 71. I've been betting for 51 years. NEVER came close to losing. NOT CLOSE! My posted record for the last three years in football vs Pinny: 898.5-746.5, 54.7%, +106.27 units, all plays for one unit or less. VS rogue locals it's not close, and it will never be!
I agree with Old School, sorry Sundown. Professional gamblers who know what they are doing should not have a losing year. If they do, they are not capable of winning going forward, are not looking into beatable markets, or are terrible with money management. Same goes with sportsbooks....getting +105 on a coinflip day after day they should have no problem winning over a 365 day period. If they did, they either A) did their job poorly by booking bad numbers or B) mismanaged their money by taking bets that were too large.

wow 71 years old - and still banging away - very impressive

Sorry on this one the only widely known books that are incable of losing over any given 365 day span are mb for obvious reasons and pin Check your sources-last 2 years-this statement is wrong

Are we arguing about 0% vs 2% or 0% vs 10%?
I would be willing to bet that matchbook have done their fucking brains in  they seed the market themselves - and tend to take the first hits
Why does everyone think booking originators at reduced juice is some wonderful business model? The big clearinghouse books that have been around 10+ years that take +110 from everyone are by far the safest and have a much better business model. Bodog and books like them, of course, have the best business model.
im in agreement with edteach, you must take a look in the mirror if you are in a bad stretch, (taking or laying bad numbers, not betting halftimes, etc...) personally i use matchbook which offers ingame wagering on every nfl and most college football games, so im able to cover myself most of the time and find value with high moneylines, you must be flexible too, for me baseball is where i build my bankroll, especially when football starts, sportsbooks make errors with their numbers late in mlb year, ex... wash nationals were 2 to 1 for the last 10 days or so of season even though they continued to play lights out!
