Bowl Games
Oh man, Nu Shooz. Holy shit man.
Only me, Rump. :) Ask Valarie Day who Casey & The Sunshine Band is? It all comes back to me... ;) I am "I can't wait". She loves me! I knew "she loved me before I met her." (Savage Garden) LOL Casey Kasem? That's me. And I'm not drunk, Rumpelstiltskin. "It's a no-win situation when my main woman liked me when she's married to him." McFly. :) How's that for a McFly type of a statement? I am the prototype Marty McFly. Always searching for the lost love of my life. :) Go Fezzik in the Hilton contest! God bless Rumpelstiltskin! ;)
Once again... not trying to boast, but... Anthony Robbins said it best: "We're all trying to be significant in a tabloid 'notice me era.'" The problem is, is who's getting noticed for what. The Bee Gees said it best: "Tragedy."
The one of many '66 Mustangs was laid out in my customer's dream. (He loved it--my "perfect" restoration.) The '56 custom Lincoln convertible "chop top" will be be put into the Las Vegas classic car collection in late 2010. The one-of-a-kind '57 hybrid Chevy is going to be released in early 2011. I will be waiting to meet you gamblers ( :) )/car geeks when my finished product(s) are awaiting your long eagerness of car-quest lust for innovation and perfection in the modern-day era of uniqueness. Until then, God bless and good luck, The Big Z (aka LTK). Savage Garden rocks! :)
Question for the board: Why has there been relatively little movement in the numbers for most bowl games? Are bettors reluctant to take positions because of the long layoffs? How the hell do you time these?

Part of it could be that your money is tied up for weeks. Not as bad as a futures bet, but it's still a while for your money to be frozen.
Found this interesting: Since the 1991 season almost 350 Bowl games have been played and the line has come into play barely 14% of the time. That is, in 86% of all Bowl games played over the past eight Bowl seasons, the winner of the game has also covered the pointspread.
...And I'm not drunk, Rumpelstiltskin...
I totally believe you. Didn't even have to go out of your way to point it out.
Bowl Underdogs that allow
Michigan State +7.5 Lots of off-the-field distractions for both squads here. This is a bet that MSU's off-the-field issues have a much more positive on-the-field effect than Texas Tech's. Sports are wrought with examples of underhanded teams rising up to the challenge, with backups stepping up big time in the face of an overly confident opponent. MSU is lucky to be in this bowl in the first place. Texas Tech had to be thinking to themselves--we're gonna play these chumps and they're going to be severely shorthanded? No doubt, even before the Leach hoopla, I'd question TTech's psyche coming into this one. The last week's events have really shifted the focus for the Red Raiders in this one. MSU's suspensions happend about a month ago. Tech is dealing with its distraction days before its bowl game. While I understand this is a virtual home game for the Red Raiders, there undoubtedly will be resentment among Tech fans at how the administration has handled the Adam James saga. If I were a player on this Tech team, I'd feel like my entire support system was taken out from under me. The very credibility of the program is on serious life support right now. Tech has to go compete mired in uncertainty and apprehension, while the Spartans have been seething over the way they ended the season (42-14 loss to PSU at home) and how the suspensions have negatively altered the perception of their program. I fully expect a scrappy effort from the Spartans, and a lack of focus from Tech that will lead to devastating, game-changing turnovers.
Iowa +4.5 Iowa's getting zero respect with this line. Who is Ga. Tech to be laying more than a field goal here? They won the craptacular ACC, which has proven itself to be pretty lame so far this bowl season. Iowa has the better defensive line, coach. Two key factors here: One, do not underestimate how valuable the last month has been for Iowa in preparing for the Yellow Jacket triple option attack. If there's a defense that can handle this kind of offense, it's Iowa's. Their defensive line is disciplined and talented. Second, Iowa will be fully healthy for this one, as Stanzi will be back in the starting lineup. He's their leader, and the guy makes plays when they need to be made.
