Browns-Packers The Packers' annual intrasquad scrimmage at Lambeau Field was canceled Saturday night because of heavy rain and lightning. This is significant because the Packers already have 13 injuries so they weren't doing any live tackling during their camp. The scrimmage was going to be the first time. Ted Thompson doesn't believe in exposing his players to live hitting during practice. The Packers don't plan on doing any live hitting either the rest of this week. So their first exposure to full contact won't come until they host the Browns on Saturday. The Packers are switching to a 3-4 defense. Many of their best defensive players haven't done much in camp yet. Top pick B.J. Raji continues to hold out. The Packers' backup quarterbacks, Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn, are terrible. Why do you think a conservative like Thompson is interested in Michael Vick? It's because Green Bay's backup quarterback situation is close to desperate. Brohm probably already would have been cut if he weren't a No. 2 draft pick. The Browns are looking like a good play right now.
