Cam Newton, I wouldn't touch this TURKEY

Cam Newton, I wouldn't touch this TURKEY John Gruden "Cam, give us an example of a play call you might make at Auburn?" KNucklehead "Uh......you, you know, you put me on the spot here, that's a tough one, What do you mean?" Gruden "You know, something like Red Razor 8, Blue Go 4" Knucklehead "Uh....we believed....you know......in keeping it simple at Auburn.......we you know looked over at the sideline, and you know, coaches said run play 25, we ran play 25". Listening to the short segment, I put his chance of being an effective NFL QB at zero. Show me an organization that drafts this low character, knucklehead, and I will show you a bozo NFL team..........I think the typical 7th grader QB could answer that question.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GqGLPh9PoY he's definitely not ready to be an NFL QB. a steep learning curve. he definitely has the athletic talent and (it seems) the drive to be a good QB. he's faced some good defenses and torched most of them. but the NFL is a big step up. He could be good under the right tutelage and if Cam has the patience to learn. Iffy. But any team that drafts him and expect him to start this year (if we even have NFL this year) will be in big trouble.
Wonderlic = 21 Slightly below average for NFL QBs https://www.footballnewsnow.com/2011/how-does-cam-newtons-wonderlic-score-compare-to-top-qbs/
I've hit on some in the past, missed on others but I am absolutely astonished that Cam Newton might be the top overall pick in the NFL Draft. I think of him a lot like Tebow. In reality, probably a second-rounder, but somebody will take a shot late in the first round just based on the freakish athletic ability. Even though he was dominant in the college game, his skill set seemed tailor made for Saturdays and seems just the opposite for Sundays. I've been wrong before, but Cam Newton right off the bat (or even in the top 15 picks) just doesn't add up. Good luck, Paul

Thanks you FEZ. Well said... He won't have the Heisman trophy for 2 years.
Pretty much agree. He screams character risk to me, and I'm not sold on the "high ceiling" that so many of the draft guys talk about. Being athletic and able to run, adds a dimension to your game as an NFL QB, but I think it's wrong to equate that into having a higher ceiling than the next QB.
I predict he falls out of the top 16 No organization is going to want to touch him. Furhter, look at the track record of low character/checkered past QBs without a history of solid work ethics, EVEN WORSE if from economically not so good pasts. Peyton Manning grows up well to do, winning the lottery no big deal, the man has good values. Give me a shortcutter, poor kid, suspect work ethic, suspect intelligence, and cut him a lottery check, and a job requiring study, and forget any realistic chance for success.
Never heard that type of comparison, but it does make sense. Guys who never had anything are so happy to "get the check" they forget about the commitment that goes with it.

I keep hearing he's going #1 to Carolina... I agree w/ what u say about him... just not sure about him dropping that far.
Seriously, WHAT IDIOT would draft him top10??? IS THERE ANY success stories of anyone who is comparable? NOT ONE GUY!!! NE has 3 picks in rd1, you KNOW they won't take him with any! The ability to run in the NFL is a short-term asset, guys ONLY run who are in Contract years, willing to absorb the blows to win a few games, (hello, Michael Vick!), but sign them on to a 5 year contract, and all that speed is pretty useless, since the QB realizes you don't want 350 pound guys to be pounding you to the ground, so they stay in the pocket.........UH OH.......... I give Vince Young some credit, he has a nice W/L record, but for every young, there is an Akili Smith *3, and Vince Young looks like a late 1st round pick only, not a top10 guy, AND HE IS THE ONE SUCCESS STORY OUT THERE! If somehow we could sign this knucklehead to a 1m/year contract, and groom him, and get him motivated, he would have a chance, but give him 50MM, and forget it, it has NO CHANCE TO WORK.........
