CFB notes

To summarize the OK State article, it was local news obv, talking about prep for the Halloween game, with only one obligatory squib from a coach about not overlooking Baylor. I've found that if local sportswriters are looking past a game, the team is, too (somewhat, of course; never completely; that's not what look-ahead means). Good example, iirc, was AZ state last year ahead of Georgia (iirc^2). Lots of local coverage of that game weeks in advance.
"The Bears are coming off two consecutive conference losses to Oklahoma and Iowa State, but with the Longhorns looming next week, the Cowboys are concerned with keeping their focus on Baylor. Receiver Hubert Anyiam said the loss to Houston is still fresh in the minds of OSU players and another game like that could be very costly. “When you overlook a team that’s your downfall,” he said. “I think we kind of overlooked (Houston) in a way. Stuff happens and that whole team could be rolling. It’s hurt us in the past and we can’t let it happen again.”" https://www.ocolly.com/bear-necessities-1.797686#5 Here's the thing: teams don't have to talk about the need to not overlook a team UNLESS THEIR OVERLOOKING IT. All lookaheads manifest themselves in this way.
