CFL Friday [B]Toronto +6[/B] vs Edmonton
Somebody please tell me how the Esks can be -6 here? From a simple power rating scale Toronto a 3-2 team vs Edmonton a 1-4 team, I have Toronto by 2 in my ratings and gave EDM 2.5 for home field advantage = Edm -0.5 in this contest.
Now the intangibles. Toronto was just drilled by the defending Grey Cup Champs Montreal by 31. If you watched this game it was 17-10 at the half and the Argos who are a little banged up mailed in the 2nd half.
Edmonton on the other hand was 0-4, their backs against the wall, the coach on the firing line, the team embarrassed, a mandatory players only meeting ensued and who did they beat, the lowly BC Lions with a back up QB. Yes, Toronto beat that same BC team a week ago 24-20.
So now EDM is almost a TD chalk. I don't buy it. EDM has the worst run defense in the CFL surrendering 7.8 YPC, while the Argos have possibly the best RB in the league in Cory Boyd. Sure, you can give Ricky Ray the nod at QB, but his best days are behind him.
This is a good spot for Toronto to get back on the winning track playing a team that just gave their all/heart and soul at home to win their very first game of the season. This line has to come down.
