childress and EVERY Viking totally incompetent

childress and EVERY Viking totally incompetent 1st down. 38 yard line. CALL TIME OUT IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!! figure out why it is the right thing to do later....mind boggling
Childress might give Lovie a run for his money.
My vote goes to Marvin Lewis. I really don't how he's still has a head coaching job in the NFL. I would be surprised if all three coaches mentioned here are back next year with their teams.
Just remember the chinese fire drill on the sidelines during the NFC championship game last year. The blind truley is leading the blind. Childress likes to talk tough, but when the pressure is on he melts.

2 other flaws he made during the game not challenging Packers 2nd TD clearly a no catch by the T-end and not using his two timeouts at end of the half to get into field goal range when he was on the 35. He is up right up there as one of the worst Viking coach's of all time but he's not as bad as Dennis Green or Les Steckel.
he had the right QB to go for a FG before half, that much we know. The ole gunslinger thrives on that sort of spot.
Risk Management Marvin Lewis, Brad Childress, Wade Phillips, Lovie Smith and many other coaches could use a course in Risk Management. It's not surprising to me that the coaches are ignorant in such matters, what is surprising to me is that the owners don't do anything about it. Don't the owners know how bad their head coaches are at making quick, crunch-time decisions? Is Jerry Jones completely fooled?? Maybe NFL teams need a specialist in risk management. They have a special teams coordinator, they have a tight ends coach. Why not a risk management coordinator? When the head coaches actually have to think, these guys take over. By the way, my favorite Wade Phillips story is when he was on the losing end of the Music City Miracle. While he was celebrating and trying to figure out how to avoid the Gatorade bucket, the Titans were returning the kickoff for a TD. Prof Meyer
I couldn't agree more. Make sure that guy knows clock management also or he/she will be at a loss. The problem is most organizations are mismanaged, if winning is their goal. When you have unqualified people making the big decisions....your list is the tip of iceberg brother.
the interesting question is, from a betting perspective, is an idiot head coach a good thing or bad? Do the Phillips, Turners, Wannstedts, etc of the world provide good betting opps? Personally, I think coaching matters most in Football, followed by hoops and then a distant third is Baseball (For example, if the Yankees sign Cliff Lee in the offseason as they probably will, I could likely win 95 games managing them vs maybe 100 with Girardi). Seems like guys like Parcells, Shottenheimer, etc can come in and turn things around quickly - maybe not win SB's obviously, but get things on the right track quickly. I like West Va this week vs. UCONN but just can't bet it due to Gomer Pyle being their HC. Curious as to how you guys who originate factor in the coaching competence factor (or just tendencies - i.e. remember Snyder in his heyday at KST running up scores as a DD favorite)
I was in a different business for ten years from 1990-2000. One thing I learned was: "First rate people hire first rate people. Second rate people hire third rate people." One idiot in a high position can do a lot of damage in a company because they are reluctant to hire someone smarter than they are. Smart people, however, love to hire other smart(er) people. It looks like this has happened to more than one NFL team. Prof Meyer
