Coaching Idiocy

Coaching Idiocy Talk about frustrated. I called a talk show in Dallas last night when I was there and one here in Houston today to complain about the idiot Tampa Bay coach not calling time outs at the end of the 1st half when Wash had the ball 1st and goal at the 2 with 1:40 left and the guys all said it could go either way and started talking about flow of the game etc. Maybe I am the idiot and just don't get it. Help.
no one questions most bad coaching moves, so they keep happening. when a coach does make an effort to get an extra possesion before halftime and tries to score, fans and coaches have long, long memories of the time they gave up a interception return for a TD with a few seconds left in the first half. those same radio guys you spoke to, if Tampa had given up a pick 6 just before halftime, would be screeching all week on air that the Tampa coach was a total idiot and he should never have "taken a chance" just before halftime like that. Making the right moves can get an NFL coach fired. Perversely, making the wrong moves, even terribly wrong, look so normal to the general public that hardly no one questions them.
even with Belechick, who even casual fans see as smart and a great coach, only a handful of math nerds and some sharps stood up for him when he did not punt the ball last year to Peyton and the Colts on 4th and 1. everyone else blasted him. when the stat nerds came out and supported Belichick saying he made the right call, to a man all the ex-player announcer guys on ESPN still said they knew better than some math guys, "I know football" and he should have punted.
Wow. Down 21 (3 scores) in the middle of the 3Q from BAL's 6, and HOU KICKS A FG??? What did that accomplish? HOU is STILL down 3 scores (18) and has to give the ball to BAL with even less time to catch up. After the play, there was a shot of some fan guy in the stands saying, over and over again, "Stupid, stupid." Of course, this is the same coach who killed HOU's season last year in Week 13 by calling a half-back option pass on 4th down using Chris Brown that was, surprise suprise, intercepted by JAX at JAX's 2 yard line. PS This post is rhetorical, and repetitive of many other identical posts about dumb coaching decisions. But, if we post enough of these, maybe one of them will make its way to one of these idiots.

FTR, they were only down 18. After the FG, they're only down two scores. But for my Over, I wish they would have scored a TD! Lol

Gotcha! Thanks...
Clock Management As knowledgable about the game, and with years of experience behind them, it is still unbelievable how a guy sitting in a bar or sportsbook, (drinking all game) has a better grasp of clock management then a coach making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. I can't find my car, yet I know that the coach should have called a timeout before the 2 minute warning, to give their team essentially 2 timeouts! Most of today's coaches have great theories of the game and can develop great game plans. Yet when it comes to game time coaching, they do things that everybody in the bar questions, and (most times) the drunks are correct.
