College week #3

people cant even post plays with out some bs getting in the way. my unborn children could have told you if he was on the over or under.
the bet is OVER Kent State and Iowa State IMO, the rotation number is superfluous (but helpful)
I've been betting 50 years and have never heard this.
people cant even post plays with out some bs getting in the way. my unborn children could have told you if he was on the over or under.
Are you serious? I'm being attacked because I had the nerve to ask what OS meant by an ambiguous bet with an obvious typo in it? Twice, since his first response didn't answer the question. Imagine if he had posted 107 Purdue +13 -105. Wouldn't you have wondered whether he meant 108 Purdue -13 or 107 Northern Illinois +13? There is bs indeed in this thread, but I didn't supply a single bit of it. If it is so obvious which side Old School was on, he could have just posted: Totals: Purdue Northern Illinois 56 1/2 -105 NC ECU 42 1/2 -110 OS Toledo 58 -105 Buffalo C Florida 50 -105 Kent St Iowa St 43 1/2 -105 UTEP Mex St 46 1/2 -105 and no one (but me) would have had any questions, right? Get real. Would you accept this if I posted it? I find it ironic that some of you who want to hold Sportsmemo's hand to the fire bristle at the idea of being asked to state exactly what the picks are with no amibiguity. Remember, the original question was simply whether OS meant over or under on the Kent State total, since his post implied both. One response might be "Oops, I meant 173 Over." Another might be this chain of "bs" as you so aptly describe it. I think I speak for most folks when I say that the former would have been more informative, more efficient and more polite.

One where people who actually want to learn, get better and who actually respect the likes of OS, LEL,Feez,Dude etc can have intelligent dialect. The other one can be for the people who care about grammer, records, misspellings etc etc etc. What a joke! This is like listening to a bunch of ten year olds. Feez and Anthony I think your intentions were great but unfortunately you can't filter out human nature.

fargn, the rotation #s refer to sides only. the word "over" tells you where he is on the total. you could go up to the window and bet 173 under or 174 over. either would be acceptable.

As I live far from LV and only wager online, I did not know this. I have this bet as well and my receipt says (173)...Over, and if I had the other side, it would say (174)...Under - hence my confusion. I guess I've always just assumed that the rotation numbers applied to both the sides and the totals similarly (Odd=Visitor and Over, Even=Home and Under). I truly thought OS had an error in the post and was trying to get it corrected. I see now that there was no error. Perhaps folks can see why I was so baffled at the hostility of the responses. OS, sorry this ended up highjacking your thread - harm done but absolutely none intended.
fargn, the post wasn't ambigous I think you were the only person who uses odd numbers for overs, even numbers for unders....or vice versa. Everywhere either number can be used for totals. No big deal, when in doubt ask, but the post was crystal clear to everyone else....fyi. We will have ambigous posts in the future, and I encourage corrections/clarification requests, no problems with that. This discussion is now over. Let's move on. and note, the rot numbers is VERY HELPFUL....A lot of games out there.
