come on guys, was it the right call or not?

come on guys, was it the right call or not? normally its bonehead plays by coaches being too conservative we bitch about, not tonight i think it was fine i know that when ernie adams talks on the headset, no one else can talk-im sure he called that after the supercomputer spit it out what do you think?
WRONG call before the play. WRONG call after the play. belichick let his ego get in the way of logical reasoning.
LOVED the call A fake punt would likely have been better. Punt and watch Indy drive down, and have a decent chance to beat you. Maybe 1/3 chance, maybe more, AND the clock will be down to nothing. OR Go for it. 50% chance to make it and win. 40% chance to stop em if you don't 30% chance to get the ball back and win with a 3 even if the .5x.6=.30 nightmare hits. NOT EVEN CLOSE
right or wrong this one will sting for a long long time

they move on, getting better every week ps adalius thomas may get cut soon

NOT EVEN CLOSE[/QUOTE] the only problem i have is with the 30% chance to get the ball back and win after the 30% nightmare hits. id estimate much less than that with manning at qb, manipulating the clock in this situation in the majority of cases. the market on ne to win was about ne -140/+140 after the turnover on downs. if you can fairly assign even money on the chances of new england converting on 4th an 2, in that exact situation you would probably be very close to the same chances of indy driving for a winning td from say an average of 73 yards away (45 yard punt) with 2:00 left and 1 timeout. it probably is alot closer to a toss up decision than the knee jerk reaction would tell you. very unconventional though so it will get a ton of criticism.
I think it's very close. Agree with the fake punt having a sick success rate there.
It was the right call. Might be kind of close though. And yes, obviously will get a bunch of criticism.
Of course it was the right call. Great 1st down and 3rd down call too. I had Pats ML obviously. Great decision, fantastic outcome.
This is the call most coaches don't have the balls to make. If Charlie Weiss makes this call in a Notre Dame game right now and he ends up losing the game, he is guaranteed to lose his job. If Jim Zorn makes this call, and it works, he may save his job. Or then again, maybe not. (I give him credit for that play on that field goal attempt today) The average coach in the NFL doesn't want to put himself on the chopping block by going for it in this situation and failing. Belechik knows he's the man so he can withstand the criticism if it doesn't work.
