Defenses that get hit for interfence on 3 yard passes......... I see this more and more. Balt lost to the Bengals with this move. How can these players be so bad at this??
How does Denver not take the holding call and move them back 10 yards? Talk about no confidence in your D

I played BB and they call it "court sense". But I hear you - this penalty situation is driving me nuts and it seems to be more and more common. These players today just don't seem to have any understanding of "situational" status. A lot of it is coaching too. An example of the coaching angle I would use is the "excessive celebration" in CF - if I were a head coach, I would simply ban any celebration at all in the end zone - violations would involve extra running at practice, etc - trust me, you can coach it out. Now don't get me wrong, shouldn't be needed - that GA/LSU game was joke and cost me an Under bet, but if you're a coach why risk it.

Tell your players 1) Hand ball to Ref 2) run to sideline Any time a team doesn't do this, I say "Coach and staff are clueless".
Lots of horrible coaching. The Minnesota play calling was very bad. They played for FGs instead of going for TDs, especially in their last drive. I was rooting for Baltimore to make that 44 yard FG. Compare that to Denver passing and going for the KO on MN.
Fez, exactly. That should be automatic now IMO (especially in the SEC) - and even practiced very often throughout the season. KOff from the 15 almost guarantees a FG attempt. Another example, I have Jets yesterday on 3/10 teaser (+1/2). They have 3rd and 4 on Buf 23 and FG pretty much in hand - what is the one thing you can't do? Hold. What is the one thing they do? Hold. Now they are back to a 50 FG which they bobble but likely would have missed. It's situational and while you need smart players, you have to coach them up on situations too. And of course, as a SD Charger fan I'll never forget the INT in the NE playoff game few years back - all the DB has to do is fall down and the game is pretty much over (I think NE could have forced a punt with TO's left but they would have had the ball at own 20 or so with about 20 seconds - back when SD could rush the passer too).
the worst part of pass interference penalties is the assessment.....a bump 50 yards downfield is a 50 yard penalty-----as if 50 yard passes to slightly open receivers are caught at a 100 % clip. with the relatively good kicking in the nfl, these PI"s are like handing a team a fg, and giving a freeroll for a td. absolute joke.

Figure out how to take advantage of the rule, don't complain about it.
