Dumb Football with :06-:11 left in the half, 4th down, past midfield. If I see one more coach blow this I will lose my mind. THEY ALL PUNT. This is ridiculous. If you are midfield, even facing 4th and 20you must go for it. Worst case scenario, you get a long pass attempt, they get one as well. BUT You can also get a whole bunch of good things to happen, like 20 yard completions that set up fgs....... The amazing thing is that often with about 20 seconds left in this situation, the offense knows to let the clock tick down but the Defense doesn't figure out it is critically to call time out. Even worse if when the clock ticks down to :02-:06 and the Offense STILL punts......never mind the very vast majority of the time, now it is a "I get a Hail Mary, You don't" time situation.
Negative Expectation.... Just remember to tell your QB not to ad-lib when the rush converges by lateraling to someone 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
Negative Expectation....How 'bout dem Cowboys! Just remember to tell your QB not to ad-lib when the rush converges by lateraling to someone 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
I wonder whether a punt return for a touchdown is more likely than an INT return for a touchdown. PR will take punts, even inside the 10, with no time left, but most INT returns for touchdowns are not when the interceptor has 11 opponents in front of him still. We need in-game SQDL! People are so afraid of failure it's not even funny. I'm sure we all have this characteristic here and there in life, but it sure does stand out when they're on that grand of a stage, doesn't it?

Coaches are morons. Every team needs one person to be hired to run clock management. See the Notre Dame idiot who didn't call his time outs last week
