I am wondering if the league's enforcement of helmet-to-helmet fines/suspensions affected today's extremely high scores ( through the first 12 games of today, there have been 50.75 points scored per game versus a season average of 42.2 points per game through the first six weeks). On NBC, they just reported that a league enforcement official stated that there were no violations or "illegal hits" in any of the day's games (probably a league-first).
I am not sure when I adjust my numbers for next week's games if I should consider this as a significant variable.Perhaps, it is purely "statistical noise" because it is such a unique and small sample. However, it could also indicate a near future trend as defenses may not be as as intimidating and some receivers may have more confidence when going across the middle.I will be interested in comparing my numbers with the openers from the bookmakers.I should be able to tell if they make an adjustment or not.
Any opinions from those who make their own totals would be welcome.

P.S. Thanks for the kind words regarding the Buff/Balt total.
