Early signs point to the field being in horrible shape. Players slipping and sliding all over the place. How do you play a national championship game and the turf be that tore up already?
Noticed the same thing. And they actually replaced the entire surface after the bowl game last week. Unreal.
Seems to me every time a surface is re-sodded there are problems like that. That field was atrocious and I'm surprised it wasn't talked about more last night on the broadcast. I thought it really affected the Ducks.

It would have hurt if Oregon won, but it took away Oregon's biggest edge, i.e. a precision offensive attack predicated on speed and playing at the opponent in space...

agree Im sure they had good intentions for the BCS title game to put down a brand new field. I don't believe either team practiced on this field until game day? But I can't confirm anything on both Auburn or Oregon practicing on the new field? Clearly, this new field had some slick spots and thats unfortunate for a national title game.
