Eastern Michigan/Kent St.

Eastern Michigan/Kent St. This line has ballooned to EMU +7 from its opener at 3. I will never understand Kent laying a touchdown in-conference, on the road. EMU got throttled 56-8 by its rival last week CMU. EMU has opened the season 0-5. Lots of desperation here, especially with their starting QB having been lost for the season. They put up a decent fight against Temple a couple of weeks ago, and Temple was favored by 7 in that one. No reason the Golden Flashes should be laying these kinds of points on the road. They have a serious dearth of talent, and this is the first conference road game for their starting frosh QB. EMU +7 is worth a shot here imo.
This would be an 8-of-clubs selection, yes?
This would be an 8-of-clubs selection, yes?
Yeah, it would definitely qualify, as this one opened at 3. And I think situationally, EMU is the play, even at 3!
Well, CMU was EMU's rival for the last 5 years under Jeff Genyk. EMU doesn't have a true rival, and Genyk thought CMU made the most sense. He really, really, really got his guys up for the Chips. And it showed. Genyk was also helped by the schedule maker. I think a couple of the games in the L5Y were the week after CMU clinched a trip to the MAC title game. Ron English just wasn't as likely to get his kids up for CMU as Genyk, and he didn't. I used to wonder whether Genyk had imbibed the anti-CMU fervor from his days at WMU, where he got his MBA.
